MemberHi there Jaclo…well my two cents worth is this…many relationships have been successful from meeting online. I have personal friends and even relatives who have done so. That being said…my opinion is that your friend has found love and you should continue to be a friend if you can and move on. Someone near you or from a distance is waiting…:)

Valentines Day is one of the largest money making Holidays of the year!

MemberActually time is the best gift you can give to someone for Valentines Day…Our annv. is the 6th and Valentines the following week. So we are planning to go over to the Oregon coast and spend a lil R n R. We have some friends that own a B&B and it’s always great to see them.
Nothing like walking the harbor sippin on a hot mocha coffee in the mornings and watching the boats come n go…listening to the seals bark. Going out in the evening…watching the sunset as you feast on a fresh seafood dinner at a candle lit table. The conversation starting with kids and family members of course…then drifting into much more intament topics.
It’s the simply things in life that brings a smile upon our faces. So keeping it simple with maybe a few little surprises;) is all it really takes.

MemberHello Everyone…I couldn’t resist posting on this topic…hehe
Valentines Days is such a special day. And is an expression of love, even tho we should be always be expressing that love for one another on a day to day basics. I feel Valentines Day can go beyond a spose or a girlfriend/boyfriend. If you have kids it’s nice to make them feel special as well. Or a parent, or grandparent…even to a friend who you may know is feeling a lil bit down.
Someone said in this topic that they HATE Valentines Day…because they don’t receive anything from anyone. Well try to give of yourself to someone. Yanno the saying “It’s better to give then receive”? Well it’s absolutly true. The smiles you will be responsable for putting on there faces will give you much joy. Don’t think of it as “what will I get outta the deal”? Think of it as what can I give someone on this special day?. If money is a issue, burning a cd of there fav songs ect. would be a nice gesture. Try to think creativly!!!
In whatever you decide to do…just make it special. Trust me…you won’t be sorry.
As for me, I’m holding out for flowers, candy and last but not least…jewels…but after 23 years of marriage I deserve it…lmaoooo

MemberHi Sciencefeeling, everyone…well Valentines Day is just around the corner…2 weeks. I do feel this is a special day..although everyday should be special in expressing love to your sweetie but this day is set aside to openly express how much you care. It can be simple or elbraote according to your budget. But I do think some sort of gester should be made. And not only from him but from her also. For me I love little simple things. Little surprises are so nice like little notes or cards put around the house or giving throughout the day. A privite dinner for two at home or dine out. A picnic by the fireplace maybe. A single rose can be just as romantic as a dozen. A homemade chocolate dessert can be enjoyed just as well as a box of expensive candy. I think what most people love about Valentines is the time one puts into what they do for the person…not really the gift. The actual “showing” how much you care and appreciate that person. Try this Valentines Day to put more thought and time into what you do instead of just going out and spending big money on that person. There are many holidays and b-days to do that for. Really make that person feel as special as they are to you. Time is a sacarfice now days with our busy lifes. And if we keep it simple and stop to smell the roses instead of buying out the store…I think this Valentines Day just might be one of the most special ones you both have ever shared…:)
By the way…Happy Valentines Day Everyone…:)

MemberWell my advise would be is…as long as you are not allergic to pelican poop there shouldn’t be a problem. Reactions to pelican poop is as follows…
Dancing around the kitchen with just an apron on…
Poofieness in certain areas…
Singing “Here comes Santa” endlessly
The urgent feeling of always looking for chestnuts to roast on a open fireSo just be careful…:D

MemberHi there Barb…well actually I have never made them myself…but I did find a recipe for ya…let me know how they turn out…:)
Soft Homemade Pretzels
1 packet of active dry yeast
3 teaspoons dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water (105 – 110 degrees F.)
1 tablespoon salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
Cornmeal and extra flour for dusting worksurface
Coarse kosher saltIn a large bowl combine yeast, 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar, and water and let stand 5 minutes until foamy and bubbly. Add remaining sugar and salt and stir well. Add the flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing by hand until well incorporated. Knead dough until smooth about 7 minutes and has a sheen. Transfer to a bowl and let stand, covered, for 40 minutes in a warm place.
Dust your work surface with flour and cornmeal. Divide dough into approximately 12 pieces and roll out to desired length and thickness. (Note: thinner=crispier). Form dough into pretzel-shapes and transfer to a baking sheet that has been lightly dusted with cornmeal. Allow pretzels to rise for 30 minutes, uncovered.Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Carefully transfer risen pretzels to boiling water with a spatula and boil on one side for 2 minutes, flip and boil other side for 1 1/2 minutes. Transfer boiled pretzels to a rack to drain for 1 minute. Arrange pretzels on a baking sheet, lightly dusted with cornmeal, and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
