Every color that you can change , that you can’t change thru the images will be within the xml file included inside the folder with the skin. Other than that the only way to change anything else would be to open the dll files in your yahoo folder with a hex editor and play around till you get the effect. The background behind the volume control should change with the rest of the background. The only background you can’t change is behind the user on voice box, the talk button , and volume the slider
I’m not completly sure since I don’t use Mac but on the Messenger Homepage where you see the Download Button there is a link below it for Mac user’s and as far as I know this is the new build
Only way to do this would be to enable voice in your instant message, if what you are looking for is for the person you are talking to, to hear it as well.
What they used was a Yahoo Account cracker. Best advice I can give you is if you can still log into your account info
1. Change the password, and don’t use any easy passwords such as name, bday, anything like that. Example: most my passwords are kinda like this

2: If someone has cracked that account id also change change any other account info such as the zipcode and suchYour gf was not booted at all. She was signed off because someone signed onto her name from a different machine.
lethalman, Iand several of my friends have encountered this as well as messenger adding them then when you switch over poof there’s noone added on your list. Chalk it down to another glitch of Yahoo
There’s no way to do that. You can be asured he is using different names to create accounts so trying to (track) him would be impossible. Best way to deal with him is just have everyone place him on ignore( any name you or your friends recognize is his). Reporting him wont do any good, least I’ve never seen it do any good. All he has to do is e-mail yahoo and say someone stole his account or some made up story and yahoo will give it right back to him.
If it’s more or less just for looks i’d say take a screenshot of yahoo save it as an image and create a image map with maybe your name looking like it’s on the buddylist and people can click it to message you
There are alot more advanced programs out there that can get into yahoo and do things in many different ways that messenger can’t. Never believe messenger is as secure as you would hope it would be. Just because messenger doesnt warn you doesn’t meen it isn’t being done.
Yes there are ways that it can be done. Some of the stuff the children run now can add you without you knowing, or in some case’s send you an add request that you can deny but it will still add you to their list. There is also no fix for this. Easiest way to deal with it , with them adding you without you knowing, is to set up your stealth settings in messenger when you sign on to only allow the people that are on your buddylist to see you. This can be done in the new messenger 6.0 builds by changing you status to invisible to everyone, then select a contact group on your buddylist, right click and select stealth settings. For each group if you have more than one, just select ( The selected contacts see me as online ). Hope this helps!
People tend to jump the gun way to easy. I was not saying vb’s menu was messed up, but vb himself or anyone else that program’s or as vb is doing with the menu decompiles and recompiles it, knows it isn’t hard to make a mistake. I like vb’s menu update, it keep’s me from doing it myself though I do tweak them a good bit when I get them. I’m just saying there’s a problem somewheres. My roommate has 1750 without the menu update and his has not had this problem and as far as computers and OS his is 2 models below mine and he’s running every bit of the same software I am. VB sorry if you took offence but be real, noones perfect.
In comment to this: “Actually, Yahoo! have changed the exploit on being able to add people.” That is incorrect. I have the code that does it and no it hasn’t been patched. I am a VB Programmer and for the past month been working on a hopefully secure messenger clone ( for purposes of trying to stop the nonstop boots from children.) But anyways one of the sources I found belonged to a booter and I have tested the code on myself using several other ID’s and the exploit still works. Sometimes it does send a add buddy request and no matter if you allow it or deny it will add the name. Other times it will add the name and the add buddy never appears. Also before someone claims that well its prolly cause your on the same computer, no this is using seperate computers on separate connections.But in agreement with what was said about using stealth. I’d agree use stealth to block your name from being seen by the user, or search around for programs to remove your name from his list and add him to your ignore list
There are ways of someone adding your id to their list without you knowing / permitting. Alot of the booter’s people use can add your ID to their list
I usually clean my cache out about once a day, more or less cause I hate temp files cluttering my system up. Also on another note, I have noticed that using YTunnel 334, it will do the same effect. Will sign on fine then if I sit idle on yahoo for awhile Yahoo will log out and either wont log back in, or it will log in and I wont be able to join and rooms. I just close it all out clean my caches and can generally sign back on. I know its Messenger because I have a clone I made and it will sign right on no problems while Messenger acts screwy
