Yes, I’ve downloaded multi proxy, but haven’t checked it out yet. I’m using ZoneAlarm and Norton AntiVirus also. All of the security websites I’ve checked out say that my ports are invisible. I was just interested in checking out a proxy to hide my IP address. I’m on cable and use the same IP all the time, and that’s the only vulnerability that the online security sites tell me about.
Thanks for the info, Freddy. Your comments here are always helpful. I really dig your website also. It’s a great resource for Yahoo chataholics such as myself.
WakinaMemberI’ve just downloaded a free proxy application from download.com but I haven’t tried it yet. What would be the difference in this and a paid SOCKS5 proxy? Are any of the free ones any good?
WakinaMemberYes, bandwith limit can be a problem if your graphics files are too big. I usually try and keep photos on pages 200×200 or less and 75kb or less per photo. Is your browser on your laptop set to enable java?
WakinaMemberI’m using Ad-Aware 6 and Spyware Blaster, but it seems I have to scan for spyware every few days because I still get ad pop-ups all the time, even when I’m not browsing the internet. Anyone know why this could be happening?
WakinaMemberMost of the free sites don’t support databases like MySQL or PHP unless you sign up for them. I have accounts with spaceports.com, My J Space and Lycos UK.
Most if not all of the free servers have annoying pop-ups or banner ads, but for testing a site idea before you decide to get it it’s own domain, free is the way to go.
For sites that don’t need database backup, I’ve used Geocities for years and never had any problems with them. I’m just a beginner with PHP anyway.
WakinaMemberIs there God?
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. His eternal power also and divinity: so that they are inexcusable.
The various works of creation all proclaim the being, unity, and perfections of God their Creator. Even heathens in remote areas of the world who have only the light of nature, even though they may have no form of organized religion or no bible, can recognize God in creation.
Who made the world?
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created heaven, and earth.
Col 1:16 For in him were all things created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominations, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by him and in him.
I believe there is a design and an order in creation that cannot be denied. Look at a watch on a man’s arm. All of those little gears did not just come together on their own and start working perfectly to tell you want time it is. And just imagine the complexity of something like the human mind just happening by itself.
What happens when I die? Do we have one life on earth or many?
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment
Do we have a soul?
1Co 15:45 The first man Adam was made into a living soul; the last Adam into a quickening spirit.
Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul?
I believe we have a soul and have been created higher than animals because we have the ability to reason and to create artisticly simply for enjoyment’s sake rather than creating only things we need to have to survive.
Why do people suffer?
Phi 4:12 I know both how to be brought low, and I know how to abound (every where and in all things I am instructed): both to be full and to be hungry: both to abound and to suffer need.
As I’ve stated in a post elsewhere on this forum, to someone who would ask, “If there is a God, why do the innocent suffer?”, I would answer:
First of all, if their is no God, where does right and wrong come from and what then would make anyone guilty or innocent?
And secondly, God is love, so if there were no God, who would even care if anyone suffered?
I believe there is alot we don’t know, and alot we weren’t meant to know. I think a good way to look at suffering is no matter how bad of a time we may be going through, there is probably someone somewhere else that’s got it worse, so we should be thankful for what we do have.
WakinaMemberI agree totally with Allison. If I were to ask God one question, it would be: How exactly do I get to heaven? This would suppose, of course, that I really believed there was a God and that He would be willing to answer me.
To those who would ask, “If there is a God, why do the innocent suffer?” I would say that if there is no God, then what makes them innocent, and who cares if they suffer?
By this I mean that if there is no God, what is there to define right and wrong and who is innocent and who is not, and if love is of God but if there were no God, who would have feelings to care about suffering?
For, Donna, who asks, “WHY DEAR GOD DID MY DAUGHTER COME INTO THIS WORLD NOT ABLE TO WALK, AFFECTED WITH CEREBRAL PALSY?”, I can kind of relate to you.
I was born with a disability and have had many family members die prematurely because of cancer and other ailments.
There are numerous verses in Scripture which substantiate the view that physical healing in mortal life is not guaranteed in the atonement and that it is not always God’s will to heal.
The apostle Paul couldn’t heal Timothy’s stomach problem (1 Timothy 5:23) nor could he heal Trophimus at Miletus (2 Timothy 4:20) or Epaphroditus (Philippians 3:25-27). Paul spoke of “a bodily illness” he had (Galatians 4:13-15). He also suffered a “thorn in the flesh” which God allowed him to retain (2 Corinthians 12:7-9).
God certainly allowed Job to go through a time of physical suffering (Job 1–2). In none of these cases is it stated that the sickness was caused by sin or unbelief. Nor did Paul or any of the others act as if they thought their healing was guaranteed in the atonement.
They accepted their situations and trusted in God’s grace for sustenance. It is noteworthy that on one occasion Jesus indicated that sickness could be for the glory of God (John 11:4).
I know that it’s hard to understand the injustice of suffering and why it exists, but I believe that there are just some things we were never meant to fully understand.
I think it’s always good to be content and to count your blessings, because no matter how bad your situation may be, there’s always someone somewhere who’s in a worse situation.
WakinaMemberI’m not a big fan of first-person shooter games. Maybe it’s because I like to see the big picture in everything.
I’m really into building games. I have all the installments of the Age of Empires series and Pharaoh.
I also enjoy Cassocks, and a game called America, which is kinda like Age of Empires except that it’s cowboys and indians.
WakinaMemberI think alot of religions are different depending on what country you’re in or what age group you talk to. And of course for some people it’s just a fad, but for others it is a way of life.
Because Wicca is a diverse movement that knows no central authority, practitioners do not all have the same views, beliefs and practices. Youthful adherents of Wicca, seeking an alternative path to spirituality, are attracted by the craft’s lack of structure and dogma.
Experience is exalted dogmatically above, and often set in opposition to, creeds or doctrines. These experiences depend on altered states of consciousness. The witchcraft experience is often expressed as a mystical experience, the sense of being one and in harmony with all life.
Tolerance is another highly-touted value among witches. Diversity of belief and practice is viewed as not only healthy but essential to the survival of humanity and planet earth, and to spiritual growth and maturation as well.
These beliefs stem from the notion that ultimately there is no right or wrong religion or morality. Relativism in all areas of life, including ethics and metaphysics, is the rule. Truth is what is true for you; right what is right for you; but neither are necessarily so for me. The only absolute is that there are no absolutes. Thus, all have the right to believe and practice “what they will.”
Many of today’s witches want to remove their traditional cloaks of secrecy, dispel the confusion that surrounds their religion, and address the hostility and suspicion they perceive as directed toward themselves and their craft. They desire that their views and practices be considered an alternative religion, a viable world view. At the very least they seek the right to follow their chosen path without being hindered, harmed, or discriminated against.
In the past two to three decades, America and much of Western Europe have seen a resurgence of paganism and witchcraft. Paganism is attempting a resurrection from the dead, a revival of the old gods and goddesses of pre-Christian polytheistic nature religions and mystery cults.
WakinaMemberused Pop-up Stopper for a long time. I recently installed Smart Popup Killer and it seems to work much better. You can get either application from http://www.download.com
WakinaMemberEvery time I try to send or receive a file through Yahoo Messenger, it freezes and shuts down.
I have tried several different versions of Messenger, doing a clean install everytime, but I still have the same problem.
Could this be a conflict with my Internet Explorer security settings or perhaps with the settings on my firewall?
