go to start click to open / scroll to programs / go to accessories/ then over to system tools / on the next dropdown list you should see scan disk in that list – click on it to open – a box will come up set it up to do a thorough scan and click the box that says automatically fix errors (should be a check mark in the box). you can run this while your on line but it is better to do this in safe mode. this is a very slow running program and may take a few hours to run but it does fix alot of errors.
if you need to know how to restart your computer in safe mode.
click start then shut down. in the box click restart after your system shuts down tap the F8 key until the page comes up to either start up in normal or safe mode in which case choose safe mode – after your done scan disk restart your computer will go back to normal mode by itself.williamleeMemberI don’t know if it will help but have you ran an anti-virus program to see if by chance you picked up a virus. or maybe ran a scan disk on your system. If by chance you picked up a worm virus it could be slowly eating away at some of your programs. but best of luck to you.
williamleeMemberI think netmeeting is still running which runs off of msn messenger. I no longer use msn and stick with yahoo which I have been using cam on it for a few years with no problems. When I use to use netmeeting I never had any problems. maybe worth looking into. I know this is not a fix for you but perhaps it will give you something to check your cams out with until someone can get with you that has the same program. good luck.
williamleeMemberI had this problem once and it was because the person who sent me the link didn’t get the url typed right. when I copied and pasted it into the browser, the browser corrected the link before sending me to the suggested site.
When did you first notice this problem?
Does it happen all the time now?
Does it happen with just one person or with different buddies?
What version of messenger are you currently using?williamleeMemberThank you my friends, naw Ian I know your the king of jewels I had to learn the hard way but hey I know better then to try to topple the king.

williamleeMemberLOL cool Jeff – need to teach me to pimp the Big Blue Ball, Good to see a parent being understanding instead of just forbidding or ignoring what their children do. I thought I fall over when my son asked me if I be on his buddies list. He also asked me to join another forum group he likes which is Yahoo answers, which is nice but isn’t the Big Blue Ball.

williamleeMembersome of the bad downloads can come from a site that has spyware embedded in them.
williamleeMemberI have to agree with Hatedjealousy I never uninstalled when upgrading to a newer version and maybe thats the key to a good set-up because i rarely have messenger problems.
I will agree that you can get a bad download and may have to uninstall and restall it which would only make sense but not to upgrade.williamleeMemberI say its pressure washer gun
