I recently had the same problem and found something interesting. once you have accepted someone to be on your contact list then delete said person a new authorization box is either passed to you or to the deleted contact. when you click deny it will go to them to also deny but if they accept then the box is sent back to you and it will keep coming up as a request until both click deny. you see when this contact gets the invite box they could be thinking you want to reconnect or they may have their preferences set to auto accept and may be unaware this problem is there. The best way to resolve this problem is to email this contact and tell them if they could just deny this invite as it will never go away until both click the accept or deny button. I hope this helps you out.
williamleeMemberniq6566,
Hey thanks I will check them out, you have been a great help..
williamleeMemberTonydoss,
I have checked into what your asking and found nothing that will start Ym minimized in the tray. What might be something helpful is You can right click your desktop icon holding the button down and drag your icon to your taskbar which I think would serve the same purpose but make sure you set your messenger to not auto start when you start your computer. good luckwilliamleeMemberHi paz2944,
I see you have gotten some great advice from some great members. I would also like to add a little something. Have you tried just asking them to stop contacting you? After 8 years on line using yahoo messenger I have found that most people will respect your wishes to leave you alone.williamleeMemberyeah thats what i thought but figured i had nothing to lose and well like I said I havent had the problem come back (knock on wood) go figure
williamleeMemberI had this happen a few times and someone told me (cant remember who for the life of me) but anywho he said to go into messenger perferences and into chat and choose none on the word filter, and have those i chat with on IM to do the same. What was told to me was that sometimes if the words we choose could be taken as subjectable the message may not be sent. I thought it was hogwash but did it anyway and as of yet to have another message disappear in cyberspace. could be something to try.
williamleeMemberThanks I will do just that. You been a great help
williamleeMemberThanks Fancy, now how could I resist trying the fish tank. thanks again.
***biggggggg Huggggggggggggggs***williamleeMembersorry guess when i did search i didnt come across it.
williamleeMemberYeah several times but I never got my account taken away. I think if yahoo wanted you gone they just do it. I would delete it and ignore it. clicking on a place you know nothing about could either just be annoying or put something nasty in your computer. But seriously I think yahoo would first lock you out of your account and investigate and if you broke the TOS agreement they just shut you down. I doubt they send you some place to save your account. Personally I delete it and not let it worry you. but then that is just my opinion.
williamleeMemberUnless they tell you that you have been blocked or ignored, I have never heard of anything that can let you know any other way. Chances are if your trying to contact them and they are not replying then I would say you already have your answer. Sorry i can be of more help. good luck
williamleeMemberbring up your yahoo messenger click on messenger than perferences choose category – appearences and in the section change fonts & colors reset your color then click ok when that box disappears click apply in the perference box then ok. Thats the only thing I can find that would relate to your problem. Do you have another account? and if so does the same thing happen?
williamleeMemberSorry I couldnt be more help. I thought I would try and get mine to do what yours is doing so I changed my high speed peference to dial-up but mine still came up. the only other thing I can think of is that yahoo has a temp. ban on your account which usually takes about 72 hours before they will allow access if someone has complained or your violated the TOS agreement. but anyway I hope that if and when you do get it working that you will come back and let us know what the problem was and what you had to do to fix it as it would be great information we all could learn from.
williamleeMemberCould be a cookie problem go to the url below and follow the instructions
http://login.yahoo.com
After successfully signing in to your account, try Yahoo! Messenger again. You should be all set.To clear your cookies go to your browser and click on tools and choose internet options, under the general tab go to temp. internet files and choose delete cookies. make sure you click ok before exiting.
williamleeMemberHello Mike D and welcome, have you tried logging into your email? and if so are you having the same problem? If it is just messenger maybe a simple fix may check out and see if when you put your password or id in if by chance you hit the caps lock. I know sounds silly but I have done this myself and felt I was going to have a meltdown in my mind until I found out that is what happened.
