Oh okay, thank you for replying. 😀
My friend seems to know everything about computers so that’s why I asked here to make sure. Maybe I shouldn’t of deleted it in that case lol. Oh well! I’m happy with MSN Messenger anyway at the moment. I will upgrade to Live Messenger in the near distant future.
Thanks again!
YunaMemberHaha, yeah.. I’ve been wondering on how to do that too. I made a mistake with an email and accidentally stored it. I was trying to get rid of it but I’m not sure how!
YunaMemberI’ve had random people adding me and I had no idea how they were getting my address. I think some people get email addresses from emails they receive. The emails of people are listed at the top and perhaps that is where they get it from. If you don’t send emails with that address than I am not sure how they are getting it. 🙁
YunaMemberWow, this thread is quite old.
I have never really had that happen to me before, thank goodness. If I were you, I would report him to Yahoo and just put him on ignore. I really doubt that he would be an employee of Yahoo, they don’t PM people in the chat rooms.. at least I didn’t think so! It’s probably just some idiot causing trouble.
YunaMemberGood news! Chat is finally working! The error must of fixed itself up when I reinstalled it for the 3RD time! I’m glad it’s all working okay now.
Thank you very much for all the help everyone. Hopefully Yahoo will stay working lol. I wouldn’t get my hopes up though. :p
YunaMembermagun wrote:No it not a virus. No, I don’t think it is a virus because I did a virus scan last night and nothing showed up. I am installing again now, if it doesn’t work this time.. I’m going to download an older version of Yahoo.
Thank you for all the tips! 😀
My dial up connection is sort of slow sometimes but I’ve never had these problems with Yahoo before, every now and then I might off but not like this. Oh and I did change the settings to allow the firewall access. It didn’t connect at all until I changed that.
We’ll see what happens when I install it again. I’ll post a report after it’s done. :p
YunaMemberAhh! I reinstalled it and now Yahoo Messenger won’t even work at all. 😡 I think I should just download an older version of Yahoo instead. This new version isn’t very good with my computer and it’s only new! It’s very annoying, it froze up my computer before when it installed and the computer ended up resetting itself.
YunaMemberI think I got the American version. It wasn’t from the Australian Yahoo site anyway. http://messenger.yahoo.com/ That’s where I got it from.
I’m reinstalling it now, it’s taking ages because I have boring old dial up. 😡
YunaMemberNot on this username I haven’t, I haven’t even been to any chatrooms yet. I only got this username this morning and I wanted to go to a chatroom, I pick a chat room, click on it and Yahoo disconnects on me.
Everytime it disconnects me it says after a short time, ‘Signing in to Chat took longer than expected. Please try again later.’ I have tried this morning and now and it still won’t connect. I’ll try uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. 😉
YunaMemberBut I only created this ID this morning when I got Yahoo Messenger. They wouldn’t have a reason to ban it from chat rooms. 😮 I tried another user name and the exact same thing is happening. :crying:
YunaMember*Bump*
His Yahoo still isn’t working! I don’t know why it won’t. I will ask him to update to version 7.5 when he comes online next. He told me that he actually tried all of the versions of Yahoo Messenger but they all did the same thing. I used to have the same problem with my Yahoo where it wouldn’t connect, it fixed itself after a while. His hasn’t been working for months! :crying:
YunaMember*Bump*
My Aim voice appears to be working alright again. It seems to connect almost everytime and the voice seems to be pretty clear and understandable. I have no idea what caused it to not work in the first place. Me and Josh tried it the other night and it worked! I was shocked but really happy about it of course. I wish I knew why it stopped working, it would help me to fix in next time. 😀
Thanks for the help everyone! Hopefully it stays working!
YunaMemberAhh! I jinxed myself when I said that it connects alright. Voice won’t even connect now. I don’t have a firewall, neither does the other person (they have theirs turned off) yet it won’t connect. We had this problem once before but my friend ended up calling his internet supplier and got them to turn off the firewall. I don’t see why it won’t work. 😡 All my messengers are having problems at the moment!
I notice the scratching and lagging with two people I talk to. It’s probably my computer lol. It’s old.
YunaMemberI’m sorry for taking a while to reply! I told Josh about the last suggestion and he tried it but no success. Thank you all for your help, hopefully it will work again soon enough. It’s probably a glitch or something because it seems to work on his brother’s lap top alright. It’s weird. I wish it would just work again. :crying:
YunaMemberHere’s an update: My boyfriend tried doing all those different things but his Yahoo still isn’t working. He said it did connect up once but it logged off again straight away. He said he’ll keep trying to see if he can get it working again. *Fingers crossed*
