Its saying logout because its trying to make a connection, ill fix that. simply click the logout button to close all open connections.
Then Uncheck the Automatically log me in, go to http://yahoo.com sign up for a new account, and log it in with buddy spy.
January 9, 2005 at 3:50 pm #106637venikMemberThis is the part I am having trouble with: HOW DO I “log it in with BuddySpy”? The USERID is grayed out on BuddySpy. Do I simply log on to Yahoo with the alternative userID and BuddySpy will use that ID?
January 9, 2005 at 4:11 pm #106609princeGParticipantYes, you simply log in Buddy Spy with you alternative ID and its supposed to work fine. At least for everyone out there..
Because for me, I still havent been able to work it normally, i choose every single server and port and i’m never able to log on, I dont know whats the damn problem. Im behind the firewall that the xp provides but i dont think it’s the problem cause i’ve turned it off and tried again.
So, I just uninstalled the program in my disappointment 🙁January 9, 2005 at 5:28 pm #106638venikMemberFinally I got it to work. The problem was that it was not clear how to log on: the USERID was always grayed out. Now that I logged out, put in my userid, and logged in, everything seems to work ok. Wish that I knew that earlier;-(

But, as I figured out ( quite late though 😛 ) that you do programs for Yahoo or have the ability to do so, why dont you create a program/plugin that will allow us to change the status message to the songs which we are playing in Windows Media Player 10 ? I know about few softwares tht work for Winamp but I dont use winamp. so, was wondering if there is any software which might show the what song in the WMP we are playing in the yahoo status message. Thanks for the buddyspy though.
January 10, 2005 at 2:31 pm #106639venikMemberAs I understand it, you also finger people who are “invisible”, right?

Yea, Ill see what I can do make like a Status Manager, with WMP/Winamp/Fake Idle. things of that nature.
Although I am not sure when I will get time to do it.
I have a few ides for other projects, that I wish to explore first.
But if I find some spare time, I will make another project.
January 19, 2005 at 3:11 pm #106568kimmyMemberHey, is there anything new going on with Buddy Spy? No posts in a week. Just wondering.
January 19, 2005 at 7:58 pm #106475UnSaKreDMemberHey Kimmy,
I just released version 2.1.7 of Buddy Spy, just some minor improvements.
It now uses the YMSG Key when it sends out the packets to scan.
Hopefully this will help improve the false positives.
January 21, 2005 at 10:38 am #106614jtuscanoMemberIs there a way to make the viewing area of the chatroom column wider? Some room names are really long, and I am only able to view the beginning of the name.
Thanks!
January 22, 2005 at 2:45 am #106476UnSaKreDMemberYes, you can make it longer by changing the column header width.
And drag it further to the right.
January 22, 2005 at 6:50 pm #106569kimmyMemberThis may have been addressed already. Will a buddy’s aliases show as online if their main id is, even if they have chosen to make them inactive?
January 22, 2005 at 11:23 pm #106477UnSaKreDMemberYes, Kimmy.
It should show the alias online as well, since its tied to the same account and technically online.
If you have a profile with multiple aliases, when you log into Yahoo! Messenger your aliases also get logged on.
When some one sends you a IM to an Alias you will still get it, even if you signed on from your main identity, since the accounts are all integrated.
January 23, 2005 at 2:25 pm #106570kimmyMemberAnother question. When I click on send buddy an im, nothing happens. What should I be doing or what am I doing wrong?
January 23, 2005 at 7:13 pm #106478UnSaKreDMemberIt should have popped up an IM, ill look and see whats wrong with it.
But it worked for me earlier. -
