ParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by freecasanovaHow can I see if my friends are hidding behind the dark curtains of Invisible mode.
You can’t. That’s the whole point.
Quote:quote: I do wish them to give a surprise. And then again how to hide from the people like me who wish to see who all are in invisible mode.Well if you don’t like to be seen while invisible, what makes you think your friends want you to see them?

ParticipantI tried it too. Everyone who was visible on my friends list were invisible on my address book, despite several refresh.

When one use the deny a buddy feature, does it allow other parties affected know that they’re being removed on both lists? No it doesn’t, which is another reason why its cool. Unless you use the message option, which presumably sends them a message to let the know. I’ve never sent one, since more often than not it will antagonise them into re-adding you.

ParticipantYou know when you accidentaly click on someone’s webcam when you wanna see their profile (oh come on! WHo hasnt this happened to?) and then it just opens their webcam without any option of cancelling it, so you end up looking like a creepy weirdo that tries to see webcams of complete strangers who dont even have their webcam sign on?? Well, I would like an option where it says “see webcam or not” and you can click on not. OR at the very least when the yahoo condition of webcam watching comes on “Yahoo isn’t responsible for the contents of webcams” for there to be an option of “I agree” or “I dont agree”. Right now, you can close the window and webcam still comes on!
PS. Nhyrvana, are you the same Nhyrvana as the website? Thats a cool site 🙂

ParticipantHazard666,
Check out this site. It has a step by step direction on how to disable ads in yahoo messenger. I haven’t personaly tried it as I used y!tunnel, but you can give it a try.

ParticipantPut a “New webcam. Message me for nakedness fun” status message, or something along those lines, imagination being the key here. IF someone has you on their list, there is a good chance they will message you. Then you’ll know and then you can go to backdoor and take your ID off their list. Of course if they really wanted you on the list, chances are they will add you again, so you can try ignore.

ParticipantIsn’t it weird how topics like these gets the most viewed numbers? I was looking at the all the topics and all those on how to see people’s IP, how to add people without permission, how to know someone is online and cambuster got the most viewed numbers in the shortest time.
Hmmm… Everyone’s a naughty voyeur.

Participanthoopy, I’m being stalked by some guy as well, so i know how frustrating it is and how damn annoying. Now, I don’t know the foolproof method of catching his IP but there are some ways. Do you have webcam? Everytime you connect to someone’s webcam or they connect to yours, you can see their IP using netstat -a at command prompt. Some people also say you can see a person’s IP when you do a voice chat but that’s never worked for me.
Now, if you do have a webcam, try and get the guy to view your webcam (remember. Masks an option if you dont want him to see your face in addition to knowing your IP) but then he will also know your IP (if he doesn’t already. Rather a draw back. Also, don’t give away personal information about yourself to people on net. Alot of them are weirdo psychopaths. And unless you are sure that he knows where you live, don’t worry too much about his threats. Remember, he maybe in the wilds of Africa or a tiny hamlet in far corner of Asia or the North pole. Some people get their kicks out of being annoying prats on the net. And get a good firewall… zonealarm is free and really very good and effective.
Ignore people who go on about privacy issues. I bet you most of them have caller Id system on their phones and a person’s IP address is pretty much the same as their phone number. It is there to identify people so you can avoid being stalked by a crazy psycho!
Goodluck.

ParticipantJoe, the one information they can’t change is your birthdate. There is a slim possiblity that if you send an e-mail to yahoo, tell them the story and provide your birthdate as proof of being the owner of the account you may be able to get it back. On the other hand, given that you were silly enough to give your password to some complete stranger, chances that you also gave them your birthdate is strong. However, what do you have left to lose? Worst case scenario, yahoo will refuse to give you the password. Then just try and lock the person out of your account. If you can’t use it, they shouldn’t either. (Bad anti social attitude, but it IS your account after all).

Participantyes, I have been to that site, but its exhausting! I keep removing my ID, but he keeps adding it. So I am going to delete the ID he has. however, my questions were also general for future psychopaths which I seem to attract like magnets…
arwen10024
ParticipantActually, in theory it’s spposed to be 90 days. In actual practice it takes much longer. I deleted an account a year ago and it still won’t let me re-open it.
arwen10024
ParticipantI think you and your friend will find this site useful.
arwen10024
ParticipantThere is no Yahoo 6.0. There is a worm going around as yahoo 6 but there isnt an official yahoo 6.0 version.
arwen10024
ParticipantI am pretty sure (99%) that you can’t. But even if you could, you shouldn’t without their permission. People have a right to their privacy.
