MemberWow, great job Black hat!! And thanks for the tutorial!!
Celtic_coventina
MemberThen I would suggest you do as Johnson directed…he is far more knowledgeable than I am…Hope you get it working!!

MemberI would try downloading Ytunnel to see if that would stop the booting….I am no expert on this and some of the others may have better answers for you. But that is what I would try if it were me.
What do you think gang….would YTunnel Basic do okay?
Here is the link… http://www.ytunnelpro.com/download.php

MemberHey Johnson, I just wanted to say I never noticed anyone trying to run you off.. (although I did see a little conflict going on between you and other members that I also respect.) I love reading this board. I have learned some great tips from everyone and met some wonderful people here. I just wanted to say some of your posts have been very helpful to me as well…and I also wanted to mention I like the new “nice” Johnson. Although I did tell you I was very leery of you when you first signed on. I do hope you stick around it is nice to have the inside view from someone who knows what goes on in the mind of a booter/hacker…I do appreciate the time you take to help.:)

MemberWell if yahoo wants my actual zipcode…they better make it harder for people to hack accounts. Lets say someone asks you for your birthday or Birthsign…innocent enough questions…so you tell them…big deal.
Then you maybe say the town your from…or for some reason share your addy info with a trusted person…who mentions your town online…they are more than halfway there…all they need is your answer to your secret question…and like you say that can be guessed with a little effort.
I think If I were to ever set up another account …I will pick my secret question and if I am using my dads name I will add to it… Instead just saying of Wilber (Not my dads real name) I will put daddywilber or fatherwilber Papawilber. For a pet named Rover….blackrover.. fluffyrover.. puppyrover..doggyrover…fatrover… something like that… wouldn’t that make it tons harder for a hacker to guess your secret answer? Just a thought.

MemberJohnson, I would love to hear your tips on securing yahoo accounts…so would everyone else on the board. Please post for all of us…. And right now, honestly, I am a little leery of chatting with you on Yahoo…simply because of the things you say you can do… or that can be done…I am still deciding if you are friend or foe…

MemberCoolguy, Hon…you need a new name…you really do not come across as being very cool…you are just plain scary…
Celtic_coventina
MemberHey Coolguy…A little friendly advice…if you want to know where this girl lives..ASK HER!!!.. If she wants you to know she will tell you…if not, well… then it is none of your business.
As a female I can tell you if you go about getting that info by getting her IP address you come across as a stalker. And well…most women don’t think that is a plus when looking at a guy for friendship (or more.) If she likes you and learns to trust you..she will tell you when she is ready. One week is not long…don’t lose her trust before you have time to earn it….. give it time.. be a nice guy and wait for it to be freely given.

MemberThanks ddoublej I will remember that!! And I do not use the remember my password option…my password is stored in the one place I know can not be hacked…My head. ~(Well, I guess my head could be hacked…*ouch*but they’d have to find me… and then catch me first!….)
Celtic_coventina
MemberYeah, I can’t say that the trust is there like it should be in regular IM’s…with a regular friend. Every little glitch makes me jumpy. And he is pushing for voice chats…which scares me because I read that hackers like voice chat….I did end the friendship once but I missed talking to him (very funny guy) I’ll probably be here a month from now crying that I should not have trusted my hacker friend and then you can say….I told ya so…..But like I said I am trying to make myself harder to hack including bogus addy info in my yahoo account. Anyone with hints to keep me hack proof please post…or do I need to start another thread for that?
Celtic_coventina
MemberAgreed Oreo…I found this board because I was looking for ways to protect myself from Hackers and booters..
( One of my newer friends on Yahoo is a self proclaimed hacker..I really do like the guy but I really do not want him knowing my personal info…I am probably nutty for even talking to him…but I liked him as a friend before I knew he was into that. He has promised to not ever “hack me out.”) Even so I wanted to make sure if someone wanted to hack me I would make it as hard as possible for them to do so…I have learned alot here.
This is a great board!! But when I am online as invisible…I want to be invisible. I hope there is no way to see the invisible ones….
Celtic_coventina
MemberArwen, not sure if I followed you..
>> Everyone who was visible on my friends list were invisible on my address book, despite several refresh.<<
If they are not visible in the address book but are vivible on your buddy list…They will not show up in your address book unless you have their screen name and a yahoo email address entered into their email portion of the address book listing.
You have to fill in their Screen name, nick name, and yahoo address when setting up your address book listing for this to work.
I have one friend who is on my buddy list and in my address book his screenname is one of his aliases and he has no yahoo email for that name.
But when I entered his (alais) screenname@yahoo.com in my address book it still shows me if he is online or not (even though that screenname does not really have it’s own email addy with yahoo…(Yahoo uses his screenname to locate him…not the actual email addy…but it has to be a yahoo email entered in the address book or Yahoo will not even check for that screen name online.)
If you do all that you should see them online in your address book.
( Unless they choose to be invisible. I never meant to give the impression you would see the invisable people )
Wow, I am confusing myself! I hope thats clear…
Celtic_coventina
MemberArwen and Netti, If they have their invisible option on…you will not see them.
But this works if you want to see if someone is online that is not on your buddy list. This is the only way I know that you can see automatically if someone is online that has either not been added to your list… or maybe for some reason does not want to be on your buddy list.
What I was saying is even if they do not have an online indicator showing on their profile page that would tell you they are online…you can still see in your address book that they are on.
If they choose to be invisable…they are just that…invisible. I do not know any way around that. Thank Goodness, because I am using that option right now!
Sorry if I was not clear.

MemberYou need to have her go to her Profile page…http://profiles.yahoo.com/(her screen name)
In the upper right hand corner she needs to click on my profiles.
It will ask her to sign in…after she signs in she will see her profile page again but it will have the editing options above her photo/Bio area…She needs to click on the editing option “Edit Profile Information”
This will bring her to her personal Info page. She needs to scroll down to the bottom of the page Under “Display Options” and simply uncheck the Adult Content” box by clicking on it.
Then click the “save changes” button at the bottome of the page…when the next page comes up just click on the Finished editing box. This should fix it! ~ Good Luck!

MemberNo DDoublej, not so much “experience.” (I’m no stalker) It is just something I noticed over time as I add people to my address book. Sometimes I add them to my address book before sending the request to be on their buddy list. So I can write them and have their email handy. I noticed even though they were not yet on my buddy list I can still see whether they are on or offline in my address book. This works even if they do not have the “I’m online” notification in their profile. It is probably something Yahoo should fix…but it works.
