There are many block checkers but most (if not all) dont work anymore.
Make a google search for ”block checker”, try checking the online status of yourself to see if they’re functional.
Dont count on some program though, try common sense instead.
You can make a second MSN account and add the contact you’re interested in. If the contact is online in your fake account’s list but offline in your regular account list, then you’re blocked.
I’ll probably get yelled at for saying these because its intrusion of a person’s privacy but I’m an anarchist anyway.
My consience is clear, no guilts. 🙂DeadeyeMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by SnuggleyIs it possible for them to send an invisible keylogger and for it to install even though we have a firewall? Is there anything that will scan for them and will scan for ones that might already be installed on your computer ?
I dont think its possible, but to make sure, disable the html graphics of the incoming e-mails, you’ll find the function somewhere in the menu.
As for the firewall, it doesnt prevent hackers from sending you keyloggers. But it prevents the hacker from getting connected to your computer and eventually to the keylogger and get the information that the trojan has collectedm making the trojan useless.
Also, thanks for the filter related tip, I’m on it.
DeadeyeMemberI’ve been having the same emails every once in a while.
They only seem to affect yahoo mail, since I never got them on hotmail.
I’ve asked the same question on these forums about those blank mails some time ago.
The reply was that they are probably spam that escaped the junk mail filter and made it to your inbox.
Its recommended to delete without opening. Most spam emails are generated and sent to random addresses, opening an email could alert the sender that your email account is active and might target you for more spam mails.
Just toss them to the trash bin and score a three-point for me. 😀DeadeyeMemberWell, the action against spammers is banning/suspending, so if you ban by IP, you dont only get rid of the spamming account but the possible other multiple accounts he/she might have created to assure his annoying existence in the forums.
Unless of course you mean, reporting his/her IP to ban the spammer from more than one forums, similar ones.
I remember cases of posters who were posting porn related material and ended up getting banned from all forums of the domain.DeadeyeMemberIf you have ever been a moderator or administrator of a forum, you’d notice that every poster leaves his/her ip behind.
This is mainly done to track down multiple forum accounts.DeadeyeMemberWhat can I say?
Check some useful links below and try some of the recommended solutions. Obviously the 0x81000370 error can occur for various reasons.http://www.askmarvin.ca/forums/index.php?showtopic=2447

DeadeyeMemberFirst of all, dont make 2 or 3 posts in a row. Edit your last post to add or correct something.
I suggest you start in safe mode and make a virus and spyware check again. See if that helps.DeadeyeMemberI’ve been wondering myself about this and asked in a few forums.
Outlook express does have such a function but not Yahoo or Hotmail.
I tried google and found a few services (some free, some not) that were supposed to be sending a report to you when the email has been opened.
Dont get me wrong, I’m not talking about signing up for a new email. You were being asked to sign in the service, then type: NameOfService@ as the sender’s adress. It never worked for me though, my emails were never being sent and I was just getting more spam after my sign up… 😡
If I find anything, I’ll let you know and post it here.DeadeyeMemberClick Start, then Run, then type: ipconfig /flushdns
Note there is a space after the word ipconfig.
Let us know if it worked.DeadeyeMemberThe exact thing happened to me too after the format.
Its spyware alright, use your spybot and lavasoft ad-aware and clean them up, you might also come up with a spybot worm.
Also, take a look at your installed programs from the ad/remove programs icon in the control panel. If you find anything suspicious, like Webrebates and such, then have fun deleting.DeadeyeMemberYou lost me there.
I was thinking of something more simple, like downloading those DOS missing components from somewhere? Is it possible? You see, the programs I’m trying to install come from a CD, you explained to me how to run them, but how can I do that without installing first? WinXP wont let me install any of those.
There is only one case, of a program that can be installed for some reason (very old program, created in ’92 I think) but what’s next? I could go to my program files and in the program’s folder but there are tons of files in there, which one(s) do I convert?
Enlighten me.DeadeyeMemberSounds like a great idea, they hit us, we hit them back.
I’m in.DeadeyeMemberWebrebates, Zango and LogiTray are spyware, remove them as instructed above and try again.
DeadeyeMemberYou might also want to try going to tools/options/privacy
In your contacts’ list, you can right click on both added and blocked contacts, if the option ”delete” is clickable (not grey) that means that the contact has deleted you from their list.
Just…delete them back. 😀DeadeyeMemberMake sure to come back and tell us if it worked, if it does eventually.
