well It looks like I am not the only one. Gig700 & Witchsis what OS are you running? XP? Just curious. I still haven’t gotten mine to work and have given up. I am not sure what to do short of taking it in and having a tech look at it but that costs money. Jsut to clarify as well that the XP firewall is not enabled on my system and that Zona Alarm doent appear to be the problem. I am thinking it may be the video card but not sure.
I sure miss my cam. 🙁ok I tired the “%SystemRoot%system32eventvwr.msc /s” and I am not sure what it is supposed to do. I can read all the event logs and alot of the Appliation Hang errors have to do with Ypager.exe. Those are the times I tired to run my web cam and it wouldn’t work. I didn’t see anyerrors for when I tried it under msn messenger. I also double checked XP firewall and it is disabled. I am currently looking for the ‘how to’ add yahoo to the trusted sites in ZA pro and how to open ports in ZA, maybe that will help. I will also try reinstalling the drivers once agian for the cam.
Thanks I will try that aswell as double check and make sure XP’s firewall is shut off. One other error I have gotten is something along the lines of “the cam is in use by another program…’ I can’t quite remember. I will reply agian should I run into problems or if the above tips help at all. Again I tried the cam in EYEBall chat and it ran for a few seconds and then froze and when I tried to restart eyeball I couldn’t I had to reboot. Wierd. 🙂
I have a similar problem with my comp. As posted in other threads I have upgraded to XP from 98SE and now my cam won’t work and my mic doesn’t work yet it will work when trying to train the voice command program through XP Plus. THe built in firewall is not on and Zone ALarm never gave me troubles when on 98. So I have no Cam or Voice. 🙁

yup I already nistalled the XP drivers for the cam that I downloaded from Logitech. And my XP firewall is shut off. SO I am not sure whats going on.
One question how do you open a port on Zone alarm firewall? I can’t get my cam to work becuase I get a message saying that I am behind a firewall but I have given Yahoo permission to access the net.
The drivers I downloaded were from logitech but the updates for XP I will have to check that. I know I havn’t installed the Service pack 1 for XP yet. That I will do ASAP. My firewall is Zone Alarm Pro and when I was on 98 everything worked fine. Maybe it is the upgrades for XP that I need I am not sure. You would think it would work for other progams that are not MS products but maybe not.

I am having trouble aswell however of a different sort. I posted this aswell in the MSN thread.
I have recently upgraded from 98SE (running Norton 2003 AV and ZA pro) to XP Pro. When I was on 98 everything worked fine. I could use my cam in msn, yahoo and eyeball chat. no after upgrading if I:
– try to use the cam in the logitech software I get an error saying that it is being used by another program.
– If I am in msn and try to start a cam session all I get is a black cam window and then my comp freezes
– If I am in yahoo I get an error saying that I am behind a firewall and can’t use the webcam service. I have eamiled yahoo and they gave me therquired info to enter into ZA but that still didn’t work and I don’t have a proxy server.
– Eyeball chat will work for a second then my image on the persons comp that is veiwing my cam freezes then my whole comp freezes.I have unistalled and reinstalled the drivers and software for the cam (it is a logitech quick cam I believe) and no help there.
Anyone with any ideas?:(
