I am also having that problem were it takes about 30-45 seconds to log on. But I cant change my password, update my email address, format my screen name, or confirm my account. Any one else having these problems?
when you block someone it shows them as signed off on your buddy list. So the sounds you are hearing is just the sounds you set to play when a buddy signs on and whena buddy signs off. It has nothing to do with the ad hack.
It kind of sound like some one found out your password, deleted your buddies, and changed your password.
If your using a HTTPS protocol that might be the reason you keep getting diconected. AIM even says that some HTTPS severs may disconect you with out warning. So if you are using that there is nothing you can do really.
I suggest going to oldversion.com and downloading AIM 5.5 because 5.9 is very bulky and crashes alot, just like you said.
They are buddies you recently talked to. As for if you double click the Im icon it does exactly what you said it opens an IM window, you dont have to double click on it though.
you cant even if you click off on “Show AIM.com window at sign on”. I suggest using aim 5.5 Then go to the link in my signature so you dont get any popups when you put your mouse over the ads.
That message has been going around for awhile. I got it back in aug. and it said aol would charge for screen names on Aug. 12th but they havnt. Just ignore it. If AOL did deside to charge they would probally send you an email.
