MemberThanks both for the links.
Will that help with my “problem” though? In Messenger, all the CustomEmoticons are there. I can use them just fine. It’s just that when I go to look at the C: >> Documents and Settings >> (your username) >> Application Data >> Microsoft >> MSN Messenger >> (my passport id) folder, it’s empty. How is that possible??namja
MemberAlso …
I entered the custom emoticons in a particular order so that they will be grouped together by type (when I click on emoticon and click Show All, the custom emoticons should appear in the order that they were created). After I restarted the computer, the order became all random. It’s not in the order that I entered, or in alpha order, or filesize order … just seems random.

MemberI am well aware of:
C: >> Documents and Settings >> (your username) >> Application Data >> Microsoft >> MSN Messenger >> (my passport id) >> CustomEmoticonsI used to go in there all the time to take images and copy to another folder so that I could use the emoticon in other computers. Anyway, I reformatted one of my computers, did a clean install of XP, and installed WLM 8.1. I then manually added all the emoticons. I can use the emoticons in WLM just fine. But … my C: >> Documents and Settings >> (your username) >> Application Data >> Microsoft >> MSN Messenger >> (my passport id) folder is completely empty. The (my passport id) folder exists, but it has nothing inside (of course, I have the setting to show hidden folders, otherwise I wouldn’t even see the Application Data folder).
Any ideas why?
I’m the only person who has an account on this computer, and the only one that uses this computer. Does WLM use a different folder to store personal data?

MemberHOWEVER … if I log in as a different user in Windows (not different Messenger user but different Windows OS user), then everything shows up fine. I guess I could just create a new Administrator username and migrate everything over and delete the current username, but I really don’t want to do that.

Memberdetn8r;210769 wrote:When you un-installed the Mess Patch, did you revert to the backup (default settings)?Yes. Then I uninstalled WLM altogether. Then I removed all registry entries if they looked like they were related to WLM or MSN Messenger (but not Windows Messenger). Then I removed all directories in the HD that had “MSN Messenger” or “Messenger” in it.
Then I downloaded a new file from live.com (version 8.0.0812) and reinstalled WLM from scratch.

MemberOkay, so I removed WLM altogether and reinstalled from scratch. And I still get this:

No option to Hide Menu.

MemberThe Show Menu or the Hide Menu icons don’t exist. It looks just like the picture above without those icons. I have the Mess patch on, but even when I uninstall everything and reinstall with just WLM 8.0, I have the same issue (no skin, no patch).
It’s on permanent “Show Menu” mode without the option to Hide Menu.

MemberNo.
But you can set up Messenger Plus and it will get other POP mail. I dunno if it’ll work for gmail though. Why not install Google Talk for that?
namja
MemberYes. Double clicking works everywhere else.

MemberMSN has gotten to be so annoying lately, with the service being down a LOT. 🙁 🙁 🙁

MemberIt takes me about 10 tries to sign on, but once I’m on, I can’t chat with anyone. It’s been like that for about 12 hours now. *sigh*

MemberEver hear of YahooPOPs?
http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net“YahooPOPs! emulates a POP3/SMTP server and enables popular email clients like Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, Mozilla, IncrediMail, Calypso, etc., to download and send emails from Yahoo! accounts.”
I’ve been using it for almost a year now. Works great.

MemberYou want an old version of a program? Look here:
http://www.oldversion.comCurrently, they have 6.0 and older versions, and they don’t have the 6.1 yet, but they will have the 6.1 soon. It usually takes a few weeks after a new version arrives before they make available the “old version” of that software.
