RabidKittenParticipant
Oh, Jeff. I’d never call you a cheap bastard. At least not to your face! *beams*
Oh c’mon, you guys! Yes, netflix is amazing and RedBox works just as well (which I had never even seen until I moved to vegas), but the whole reason to go to a second-run theater is for the ambiance! For the sticky floors, the bad seating and all those charming little things that we love to get out of the house for. I find that in a world where everyone’s obsessed with making things MORE comfortable and MORE homey, that a little rustic charm goes a long way. I abuse the internet with the best of them, but getting out of the apartment is nice. Promise.
It also tends to take a little time to hunt down second run theaters in your area, which can be a little trying unless you already know every place in your town. I guess it just depends on your area. I know there was one in Rochester and there’s at least one in Vegas. There are six in orange county, the same company that runs the one I like in vegas. Just as an example as to how varied it can get, I suppose.
RabidKittenParticipantBah! Super belated! Sorry everyone, I’ve had one heck of a couple months… *collapses at feet*
Happy birthdays Georgie, Heather and Dan!!!
And thank all you wonderful people for your wishes. It was…mm, nice. Yes, it was a nice yaer this year. Quarter of a century. Cue midlife crisis? *laughs*

HI!
Ahhh questions, questions, everywhere. Don’t worry. I’ve been using facebook for a while and I still stare at it blankly, with my mouth hanging agape at least once a month.ep2002;245378 wrote:1. I hate the crowded comments ALL over the place that I can’t even follow. I don’t even know where to go first, second, etc.Is there any way to keep it more neat & organized?
I’m assuming that’s my wall I’m looking at “Newsfeed”?
First of all, things are cluttered and ugly depending on who you’ve added and what order THEY put things up. Generally, Facebook throw things up on chronological order so as people throw new things up, they’ll just….show. now you do have the option of hiding people if you want (goodness knows I abuse that button). If you hover over the person’s update to the right, it should pop up a ‘hide’ button.
Looking at News Feed, News Feed is generally what facebook /thinks/ is important. Based on how many comments/likes are on that particular update.
If you click just above the ‘what’s on your mind’ box, on the ‘Live Feed’ link, it should change everything to the Live Feed, which is unfiltered and EVERYTHING that EVERYONE on your friends list has posted. once more, all in chronological order, starting with the newest.ep2002;245378 wrote:2. Why in the world are all these people from all over the world adding me as friends. If they spoke English, ok fine, but none of them do & after they messed up my newsfeed or wall or whatever, I finally had to say enough is enough & started deleting them as friends. This is my biz acct. where I’m allowing anyone to be added & someone took over for me as a Social Media Expert (I’m back looking for someone) & I guess she let all these people be added as friends.
If random people are adding you, chances are they’re adding you for games, because they liked your status picture or for the same reason that random people add on myspace; spam and advertising.
My suggestion? If you don’t know them, don’t add them.
ep2002;245378 wrote:3. How do I write on my wall for everyone to see?Writing on your wall is fairly easy. To update your status, just click on the afformentioned ‘What’s on your Mind?’ box and it’ll let you update your status. It will also allow you to post pictures, videos, events, links and other things with those little links that show up by “Attach:”
I hope that helped a little bit…if not, I blame the hour. Hahahaha, as if that’s an excuse *grin*
RabidKittenParticipantI know Say Anything. Very nice choice.
But as far as /item/ obsessions, naturally, I have a few. C’mon, like you guys didn’t see that coming.
Most of you guys know by now that I dig video games. A few years back, my best pal, Addy, saw me playing Final Fantasy Tactics. He told me to stop settling for second best and he had a game for me to play. A week later, he brought it over; Disgaea. Now, Disgaea is made by Atlus, and they printed a limited amount of the game. The only place you can really find them is in old pawn shops, if you’re lucky. I haven’t looked on Ebay, but, I think that half the fun is finding them at pawn. It’s like a scavenger hunt. Unfortunately, a little over a year ago, Addy died and his parents sold his copy of the game off. Every time I go to an old shop, I have to browse the video games, just in case. Disgaea 2 wasn’t nearly as good, as far as storyline.
Also, as far as pawn shop gems, this may come as a shock to some, but I have a very strange draw to the movie Romeo + Juliet by Baz Luhrmann. Yes, the ‘current day’ version with Leo and Clair Danes. I don’t know why, but I thought that it was a masterful work and it just spoke to me. The picture, the language (naturally), the acting, the imagery. I just loved it. To push it one step further, I /insist/ on buying the VHS copy. I don’t know why, but I find it poetic almost that every time I watch it, it kills the tape a little. It makes it precious.
…I also like pretty boxes. ahem. You know…like…chests and such.
RabidKittenParticipantNo, it wasn’t a Tom Robbin’s book. I mentioned it up there, Chuck Klosterman’s book Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story.
RabidKittenParticipantJust about one of the best movies of all time! I didn’t think of it at the time of writing, but you’re right. I would -so- be -that- grandfather.
RabidKittenParticipant*giggles* This might be the flu meds, but this is hilarious. SCREW EM!!
And I can’t stop staring at the kid and wondering how much practicing it took. Can you imagine his parents running lines with him?
No, no, no, Jimmy. When you say ‘screw em’, say it with -conviction-!
Man. See, this is why I should never have children. This is the kind of random crap I would make them do. Whole re-done sections of movies. Pulp fiction. Clerks. Oh yes, my friends…oh yes. Gathering their little friends from around the neighborhood and scheduling ‘playdates’ which are, in reality, just practice so that I can finally play out some of those crazy dance scenes from Moulin Rouge.
DAMNIT, Cindy! I know that those heels are hard to dance in, but at least your skirt’s high enough you can’t trip on it. Now take it once more from the top. And I’m not going to tell you again; -SLUTTIER-. Sheesh. You sure your mother quit the pot when she was pregnant?
Fantastic, Jeff.
RabidKittenParticipant*ticks*
Okay, that’s just a fantastic contest name. Good Mood. Tee hee. Yessir.
Good luck with that one.
RabidKittenParticipantI admit that I loved the first three Saw movies for the puzzles. I love head games, though. Seriously love them. I think that human psychology is an amazing thing. But…after a while, I just get bored with the obvious milking of ‘the next big thing’ and give up on it. Which happened around 3 or 4, for me.
2012 looks like it’ll be interesting, but then again, it has one of my movie gods in it, so therefore, I must watch. *zombie*
Speaking of, I’m hearing awesome things about zombieland. Not a scary movie, but halloweeny none the less.
RabidKittenParticipantTwitter is a plague!
Okay, I might be being just a little dramatic. Really, I don’t mind twitter too much. I tried it for about a week. Just didn’t stick, I guess. It lacked substance for me. Something to really sink my teeth into other than pointless…aimless stalking.
Yes! Contrary to popular belief, the feline desires more than that. Not much more, but a little bit. Just a smidgeon. The lack of solid organization makes my Migraine Alert Level go from yellow to orange, which is probably my biggest complaint thusfar.
Que Sera!
RabidKittenParticipantI, um, I like the one that makes your iphone sound like a lightsaber! *giggle* Weeee!
RabidKittenParticipantNawp, not having an issue, Det.
RabidKittenParticipantI don’t know if he prefers the QT abbreviation. I just know that I have a tendency to misspell his name and this just solves that entire debacle.
It’s a good one.
RabidKittenParticipantHit me up, Jeff, my main man.
I’m feeling urban-slang today. Early 90’s urban slang.
RabidKittenParticipantMy mother and brother introduced me to True Blood when I went back home last month. Completely awesome, though the accents throw me a little bit. It’s wild. I heard that the finale was kind of a let down, though I haven’t seen. Unfortunate!
