ParticipantIf you want your site to get ranked, you need to have great content. If you don’t have much text content, then the search engines will ignore your site. Meta Keywords are virtually ignored by the top search engines due to misuse. Give your products good descriptions and it’ll help way more than any meta tag ever will.

LMAO, now where did you get that idea?PS. Expect our regular $5.95 news posting fee to be billed to your account tommorrow. We accept Visa, MC and AMEX, no cheques please. Thanks! 😉

ParticipantHeh, that picture is killer Tom! That’s messed.
Well, here’s ol’ Shifter looking all ready to kick some arse. Okay, maybe I just look tired.

ParticipantI too could not make it, sorry guys. Anything exciting happen?

ParticipantGreat podcast this week, everything was covered quite well, and even though I’ve read most of the news covered, you guys managed to keep it fresh and interesting this week. Jeff & Jake seem to work well together, great rapport! Keep it up!
I’d love to write a review on iTunes, but since I’ve been on the podcast a few times, I think I might be biased. 😉

ParticipantMrEggsalad wrote:Well yes, I did think of that after I posted, but I was just hoping to get a little credit for the Yahoo thing, ah well. In the past right?
MrEggsalad, if you deserved above average credit, you would have gotten it. I can’t believe you’d expect a thank you for what little you did in that thread. Now I do appreciate you supporting Vanessa in there, but I’ve read through that thread, and I barely saw you in there. Maybe 5 posts? I think Vanessa’s count was up near the 20s. And I won’t even get into comparing the quality of answers. So, if you feel you need a pat on the back for those 5 responses, then you are going to be severely disappointed my friend! Sorry to be so harsh man, but I am really annoyed at the way you’ve brought this up and I’ve lost alot of respect for you man. When you deserve a thank you, you will be thanked. But if you need to beg for one, than you most definitely do not deserve one.Now as for the podcast, I personally think it’s is getting better and better, and I love the direction Jeff is taking it. I didn’t see anything in the least bit constructive in you so-called “constructive criticism”. You and Dan hate it all. Great, too bad for you. I think the two host deal is great, and they certainly covered everything just fine, I don’t see any need for the whole staff to comment. Why should the hosts need to part of a thread they talk about? They covered everything perfectly. The music is great, best podcast intro music ever! Keep up the great work guys!
Now I realize I may come off as a bit of an ass here, but I think it needed to be said. Now maybe your on some whacky meds that are trippin out your perceptions which might explain all this crap, but I’m going to have to call you out here and ask you to stop trying to take credit for something you DID NOT DO. Vanessa deserves all the credit for keeping a handle on the Yahoo outage and I think it’s very disrespectful that you are trying to take even a little of it away from her. And please do not put words into her mouth, if she thinks that you deserve thanks, I’m sure she will let us know. Now I’m going to forget this crap and hope that your EggSalad was only scrambled temporarily.
Peace:)
Oh and Mr.Oats, those songs are copyrighted and Jeff cannot play them without paying for them!

ParticipantWelcome Janella! Glad you think it’s cool! Thanks for joining and being a PC Tech is a definite plus here!
And ExoticThorn, I don’t know why you think knowing someones IP is important, but if you search around our forums, I’m sure you’ll find an answer, that question has been asked a million times!

ParticipantRemember, Y!M 8 is still in beta, so you can’t fault Yahoo for still having bugs in the software. Have you tried going back to Y!M7.5 to see if your ignore settings work in the last stable release?

ParticipantI’m free pretty much all day today until 5pm MST, I do have a bunch of stuff on the go tonight – I might be around, I might not, won’t know until then.
I’m also free pretty much anytime during the evening Mon-Thurs.

ParticipantI’ll try to be there. Tonight isn’t the best time for me, but if I can get away I’ll be there. Is this going to happen at 9PDT then? I can’t guarantee my attendance unfortunately, but I’ll try to make myself available. If I do have to no-show can you please send me a transcript? Thanks!

ParticipantNice work Vanessa! Thanks for keeping all the new BBB Yahoo-ers in line and informed.

ParticipantI’ve asked this before – ages upon ages ago – for the FAQ posts, but there didn’t seem to be a way at the time. Perhaps somethings changed since then, but I actually prefer my new way of handling FAQs by creating a post (or copying members great answer posts and moving them) in the FAQ with a link at the top to the post. This gives members some props for great answers, is easy for my Team members to make additions to, and is nice and clean and usable with the click of a link!

ParticipantBarbados huh? Nice. Welcome to the Ball and thanks for the introduction!

ParticipantDave – Nice, I didn’t think of the .html thing. I was trying to come up with an easier way, but my JS skills are pretty shibby. Thanks Dave, that rocks much harder than my lame way and as such I’ve updated the script to your way.
Tigerblade – I suppose the middle click would do the trick, but I just never use that button for some reason.
