Well, you’ll need a plugin to get your ipod to work together with your winamp, but thats easy enough. So no, you don’t need to tie yourself to iTunes to use it. 🙂
I’m sure if you search the winamp plugins you can get it do do pretty much anything you need.
shifterParticipantGlad to hear it Enders! Hooray for final non-beta releases!
shifterParticipantSo it is! Thanks for the heads up Cchris78! Hopefully all the annoying problems will be fixed now right? Hey we can always dream!
shifterParticipantIs your sister signed up as a WLM beta user? Have her visit this page and click the Try It link. Make sure she uses her ID when she’s agrees to trying, so it will be associated with the account! That should likely fix it I think. (And no, Firefox wouldn’t be the cause of any of this)
Let me know how it works out. 🙂
shifterParticipantHey Beth – welcome to the forums! Glad you made the plunge from lurker to full blown member! 🙂
shifterParticipantIn my childhood years, I wouldn’t eat a steak if it wasn’t grey black and dead as Tom so prefers, but as I grew older I started to realize that the more overcooked the steak was, the less flavor it retained. Now I’m a medium to medium-rare guy. I can’t eat it bloody rare, but a bit of pink is perfect.
shifterParticipantI think the majority of the staff do leave the redirects when they move a post as you can see in the Introduction Forums where the topics begin with “Moved:”. This then leaves the link to the posted topic in the original forum it was posted in, as well as linking directly to the moved topic in the proper forum.
Another great way to find your recent posts is to go to Quick Links -> My Profile and click on either the “Find all posts by username” or the “Find all threads started by username”. This will give you a list of all your posts, starting with the most recent.
Also, subscribing to your topics will also send you an email everytime someone responds to your post. To subscribe to a topic you can choose your prefered notification type using the options at the bottom of the create post page, or alternatively while on the topic you want to subscribe to, simply choose Topic Tools and Subscribe to this Topic at the top of the first post.
Oh, and easiest of all, just click the search button and type in your username and it should pull it up as well.
Of course, it might be cool to have a sidebar that lists your most recent posts for easier access. That would sure help new users who aren’t too sure of where to go to find that post they just made.
One problem I can see is when a topic title is changed to something more descriptive, perhaps there could be something stating what it was called previously? But of course a quick email or PM would do the trick as well.
shifterParticipantHi Simran, welcome to the bigblueball!
As for your question, unfortunately Yahoo does not allow you to change your Challenge Question and Secret Answer online – which is probably good considering your old friend probably would have changed this too if he could have! Anyway, Yahoo recomends you fill out this handy form and tell them your problem, then hopefully they will get back to you with some information on how to change that Secret Q & A. Good Luck!
shifterParticipantI gotta agree with Spike – the intro song has already been ingrained into my psyche as the BBB podcast song, so changing it now would just be weird to me. I do like the idea of using short transitional music to segway into different segways.
shifterParticipantWell you can use http://www.hostip.info/ to get a general location of an IP, but it’s not necessarily very acurate and it won’t get you anything more than a city. An IP address isn’t really all that useful for tracking someone specific. Only the ISP can do that.
shifterParticipantRetrochick wrote:JMO, but I think that guy was making up a rather elaborate excuse for not visiting you. Some folks have a tough time with the truth. That’s kinda what I was thinking too. Seemed a bit odd, but who knows for sure right?shifterParticipantThe display pictures and personal messages show up just fine in my WLM contact list. In fact, I can’t find an option to not display this, perhaps I’m misunderstanding your question?
Here’s what my contacts look like in WLM:

As you can see, the display pics are shown as well as their personal message.shifterParticipantActually putting that many keywords in your meta tags will hurt your ranking rather than help it. Not to mention the additional loading it will impose on the site. Less is more man, if your website is full of relevant content, people will find it.
shifterParticipantFair enough Ryan, I’ve had my say and you’ve had yours. I’m dropping the issue as of now. I’m sorry if I came across too harsh.
Peace 🙂

I’m Team Leader, not Team Babysitter. I can’t be online 24/7 and Vanessa has proven herself more than capable of handling anything that comes her way.MrEggsalad wrote:And I helped out in the IRC as well.I realize that there was stuff going on in IRC as well, but I’ve talked to those who were participating in the Chat Room at that time and they do no recall you being very active for any major length of time. Certainly not enough to deserve the accolades you are demanding.MrEggsalad wrote:You know, why not just give Dan the credit for this post? Obviously he said more, well lets look, only a few lines by me, well ok then. Why not let Dan speak for himself? There is a suggestions area in the forums, I’m sure his opinions might be heard better coming from himself, rather than your second hand IM copy and paste job.MrEggsalad wrote:Fine, give Vanessa all the credit, I WON’T help next time. I WON’T beg my parents to stay on an extra hour to help out. I’ll just let people struggle by themselves. Happy? You’re the one that gave Vanessa all the credit in the first place, and now you’re pissed that no one noticed you. I don’t think she came even close to struggling either, she handled it all with grace and ease from what I’ve seen and been told. So get down off your high horse and get back into reality! Now I do want to make it clear that I appreciate everyone’s help in the forums and I certainly do not want to discourage you or anyone else from helping in the future. But if you are going to demand a medal everytime you make a post, then no, I really do not care for your help at all. I don’t expect any thanks for any of the behind the scenes stuff I do and I don’t hear any of the other staff members becoming outraged at a lack of thanks. If someone notices that you’re doing something above and beyond, I’m sure they’ll thank you and you’ll get all that glory you’re so obviously craving. But perhaps now is the time to look at yourself and see how immaturely you are behaving about this. I’m not telling you this stuff to be a dick, it’s how I see it and likely how alot of other staff members are seeing it (though I won’t put words into anyone elses mouths). I’d much rather you forget about getting credit and glory and fame crap and just focus on doing what got you into your Advisor position in the first place!
