It's always gotta be on the opposite end of the country from me, doesn't it? Vegas? C'mon now. I mean, I'd love to see Vegas (never been), but geez. Some of us have these pesky 9-to-5 (more like 7-to-5) jobs.
Though, to be fair, Wisconsin isn't the greatest meeting place either.
Posting with OpenID was smooth, except for the part where I almost couldn't remember my password. But, as that's a classic PEBKAC issue, I don't expect there's much you can do about that.
Logging in with my Disqus account… the page refreshed but still showed me as posting as a guest. Once I refreshed the page again, it showed my username like it should have.
Also, one little thing that was weird… when I posted a comment, it stuck to the top of the comment thread (making it appear to be chronologically descending, newest first). But when I went back to the thread a minute later, it was at the bottom (oldest first). Is this a glitch? A feature?
Left a comment via my OpenID account. Worked smoothly, except for the part where I almost couldn't remember my password. *facepalm*
But since that's a classic PEBKAC problem, you won't have to worry about it.August 26, 2009 at 12:06 pm in reply to: Just fill me in quickly on the past four years of forum history #175631crazy penguin;241370 wrote:what's going on?????
This is MADNESS!
The Tiger will come out on top of any poll ever.
While the skull may or may not be a fragile thing, no opponent would have a chance to crush it, much less see its own impending doom as the tiger works its magic.
The tiger would win, paws down. No contest. Though I'm not sure I quite like the “coward” part of your description. *shakes head*

I agree. Clearly you know me well.
in the Animal Kingdom.
OH. Um… well. I mean, that too.

I'll have to go with the real winner – the tiger! (And I swear it's not because I love tigers….. ;))
Oooh, hey there good lookin'… (what? *innocent look*)
Been downloading a lot of hardstyle trance lately. Nothing like unbroken hour-long mixes to help you through a workday.
Here's one shorter track I've been hooked on since hearing it included in a full mix:
“We Are” – Marzio Dance meets Luca Antolini DJ (Steve Hill vs Hardforze)
Service Pack installation shouldn't have any effect on your e-mail. Are you maybe referring to Outlook or Outlook Express saving settings from an earlier restore point on your computer? The more detail you give us the better we can try to help.
Heard this one late one night on my usual radio station's “indie hour” – basically their picks of music they don't get to play in the regular lineup.
Ratatat – “Wildcat”

Awesome bass line, juicy layers, progressive and unusual; makes me feel like a well made chocolate mud cake sitting on the cylinders of a V8 engine going 100 miles per hour.
Due to what is quite possibly the weirdest analogy I have ever heard, I went and gave that song a listen. I still have absolutely no idea what it feels like to be said mud cake, but I dig the song.
I've been looking for new music lately… every time I get to work and put my earbuds in, I end up scrolling through my iPod endlessly looking for something I'm interested in listening to that day. Inevitably it comes down to just a handful of groups/albums every time.
Today: Xavier Rudd – Messages (actually the whole album but I like that track especially)
Det – I'll check out The Watchmen when I get back to a non-corporate computer.
I've been listening non-stop to the new album (“Divided by Night”) by The Crystal Method. While I like the title track best, this is their big single:
Fanatic – are you KIDDING ME?? I was at IKEA last weekend and bought one of those Poang chairs for the full $90 (because that was cheaper than the $130 they normally were). I was gonna get two but they wouldn't bring one down from the top racks for me.
And now they're only $30? Crap-and-a-half.
I don't tip at places where you order your food at a counter (even if they do deliver the tray to your table). I only tip at “full service” restaurants where you sit down and they take your order.
I follow the same rule of thumb. I half feel bad when I hand the receipt back at some restaurants with the “tip” line with an X or N/A on it, but then I realize all they're doing is ringing up the bill and sending someone out with a tray. NOT worth a tip.
I do tip my barber well (I never know what to call her. Barber? Haircutter? She's not really a “stylist” to me… anyway.) because that's a more direct, more skill-based service. I trust her to make my hair not look like a drunken chimp took a pair of shears to it. I tip delivery guys well if I made them come out in a downpour or a blizzard. I don't tip the 15-year-old waiter because he remembered to bring me fries. Sorry kid.
