MemberI would say a fresh install would be a good idea. But can you think of any recent changes to your pc? Also do you have any problems with IM’s?

MemberWelcome to BBB
Atrus it is possible somthing did not install correctly. It would probably be a good idea to uninstall yahoo messenger thru you add/remove programs list. Then goto C:/ Program Files/ Yahoo! and delete the Yahoo! folder. (note: if you have archive’s you want to save back them up before deleting the Yahoo! folder). Once the folder is deleted reboot your computer and install a fresh copy of yahoo messenger…
hope that helps

MemberI don’t know if this will work since you have done complete installs but its worth a try. You may have a corrupt file in your cache folder. Deleting the cache files will correct the display issue.
Close the Messenger program if you currently have it running
Go to:
C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengercacheAvatars
C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengercacheIconDelete all of the files in the above folders
Sign in to Messenger and you should be all set.

MemberWhen you send/receive an instant message and you see the typing notification but no message appears, you most likely have Scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.
To enable Scripting:Click the Tools menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar, select Internet Options, and select the Security tab.
Click the Internet (globe) icon and select the Custom Level button.
Scroll down to Scripting and make sure that Active scripting, Allow paste operations via script, and Scripting of Java applets are all enabled.
Finally, close all open IM windows. You should start seeing text in your IM windows once again. If that doesn’t work then you could have corrupt or incompatible dhtml libraries/references.. you may wish to update your IE or repair it
update to IE6 if you do not already have it.. http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com .. get latest updates/patches

MemberHi and welcome to BBB,
First what version of messenger are you using? 6.0? beta 7.0? U.S.? U.K.? Also have you tried a fresh install? Make sure when you do the uninstall you manually delete the Yahoo! folder in Program Files (or where ever you installed it) then reboot and install a fresh copy.
If that doesn’t work, I know the room categories are stored locally in…
C:Program FilesYahoo!Messengercache
in the chat category XML’s. I don’t know if it is possible that one of those files got corrupt somehow. You can delete all of the files that end with .chatCategories and then do your room search. Yahoo should parse a new .chatCategories XML.
Hope that helps…

MemberWell when I did the research it said Net2Phone was packaged with BarginBuddy. Maybe you can do a search for that. But I would think your spyware removal would have already found it if you had it.
Im pretty sure you have done this but have you tried a complete uninstall and install of Yahoo? Not only removing it from the add/remove but manually deleting the “Yahoo!” folder in “Program Files”?
Also I was wondering have you always had this problem? Did it just start recently? If so ANY new changes to your PC?
ToeBee
MemberI did some reseach on Net2Phone and it has been packaged with ad/spyware so I would suggest running your favorite spyware removal program either way.
ToeBee
MemberI think Net2Phone is spyware. Have you ran any antispyware programs?
