Pieces of your skins look oddly familiar
ToeBeeMemberThanks Sarah. 🙂 It was alright… I dont feel 29 thou 😛
ToeBeeMemberWelcome to BBB.
Are you possibly using “WindowBlinds”? WindowBlinds and Yahoo messenger do not work well together and will cause some similar problems that you are having. If this is the case you can go into your WindowBlinds application and exclude Yahoo messenger.
ToeBeeMemberWell I have to say I have never had any of those problems before. It may be something else (e.g. firewall setting ect…)
As far as clones or multi messengers here are some links to the 7.0.0.426 multi messenger , 6.0.0.1922 multi messenger. Also here is a link to the 6.0.0.1922 version of Yahoo messenger.

Say you have two different IM boxes open, when you are chatting in one and the other person IM’s you, you WILL here a sound, but while you are chatting with the person and they IM you and the icon is still in that IM box, then you will NOT hear a sound for them. Well that’s how it works with me, hope that helps a bit.
Yep your right. Forgot about that. (my sound is always off)ToeBeeMemberWhat alert sounds are you having problems with? Because some are not supposed to work all the time. If someone sends you a message you will hear a alert sound, but you will not hear that sound again if you keep their IM window open. You would only hear the sound if they sent the message and the IM window was closed.
ToeBeeMemberHi November and welcome to BBB,
As far as I know there are no options to change the sound in the installation process, unless maybe when you do a custom install.
You can turn sounds on and off from the main messenger window. In the preference > alerts & sounds. Might as well check there first. But sounds like you may need to do a fresh install.
Also you said its intemittant? Do you mean its cutting in and out while the sound is happening? Or it works sometimes and other times it doesn’t? Have you noticed any sound problems with other programs?
ToeBeeMemberFirst you can not make the smileys bigger by changing the font size. It just doesnt work that way. There are only one set size of smileys and no matter what the size of font is :)
will always be the one sized smiley.
As for your other question. It is possible to replace smileys with your own but only you will see them. Everyone has there own smileys stored on there own computers. So you would have to get all your friends to change there smileys to match yours if you wanted your friends to see them to…
:)
will always be the one sized smiley.

ToeBeeMemberYes there are programs to do this and yes they could be using one or it could be a yahoo glitch. Why dont you ask them…
ToeBeeMemberI am going to lock this topic also. It has nothing to do with Yahoo Messenger Support. This isn’t the place to discuss such things. I would imagine if you want to discuss something of this nature you would do it on Ytunnels forums.

ToeBeeMemberI am just going to lock this topic. From what I have seen it appears the owner of that forum removed the topic.
ToeBeeMemberThe archives are stored in C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengerProfiles(your yahoo id)Archive
I think they are just text files but im not 100% on that since I dont ever use the archive function…

What version of Yahoo are you using? A 6.0 version? I can’t seem to find “recieve mail” anywhere on my 7.0 version. This may or may not help us but it might give us some insight as to whats going on. After it freezes go to C:Program FilesYahoo!Messengerypager.log scroll down to the bottom, then copy and paste the last few entries here.
Also have you tried a fresh install?
ToeBeeMemberWith the newest versions of yahoo (7.0) click on “Actions > Send My Messenger List” You then have a tab to pick a I.D. from your current list or a tab to type in any I.D. Then just follow the instructions. It will ask which contacts you want to send or you can send all of them.
After you send them log into your other I.D. (the one you sent the contact list to) There will be a offline message of sorts. It will ask if you want to add the contacts and what category to put them under. The only catch is all your friends will be sent a message asking them to allow you to add them again.
