Hello Eve,
If someone is invisible and they are talking to you, once they go offline it is not going to notify you. It would if they were visible.
It would be nice if someone could make this happen, but right now with the new messenger it doesn’t do it. Maybe its part of their new privacy measure . I really can’t say . I would also like to see a refresh button on the actual im itself but thats a dream too.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
TwistoffateMemberI have a question or two and I am fairly new so please understand that I am trying to learn all of this. I have nortons internet security 2004 and a router that came from my isp ( linksys is the router)
When I run the netstat -n I see a 207 blah blah. I was always under the impression that if you had a firewall it started with a 65.. so on and so forth. How can you tell what your own Ip address is and if others are seeing it ? If you have a firewall/router and you run Netstat -n and you are chatting with someone if they run netstat -n do they see a different so called ip address than you do ?
If you run netstat -n and you see a fin_wait_2 what exactly does that mean? Also, someone mentioned firewalls from software aren’t any good. Does that mean Nortons internet security that has a built in firewall isn’t any good? The reason I’m asking is because when I run netstat -n it says close_wait. I also read on here that if it just closes a port it lets someone know your computer is active( hope I am explaining this right ) I am lost , from what I’m reading . All the things I have that I thought were protecting me aren’t doing diddlysquat.
TwistoffateMemberHello Web,
I have had this happen before to me. The only solution I found was to reinstall yahoo messenger. I never had to completely uninstall it for the voice to come back. Unfortunetly, I cannot tell you why it may be happening. It could be a fluke in yahoo or it could be another program conflicting with it and causing problems ( maybe)
TwistoffateMemberUntammed,
When you speak of the security leak, do you mean the one has never been fixed or they created a new one?
TwistoffateMemberAmy,
Well done you! Your Skins are Fabulous . Having a bit of difficulting choosing my favorites thank goodness I don’t have to!!… Btw, Excellent Job on your Hunter Green and Thank you so very much for sharing them with us .
TwistoffateMemberHello Sofasofa,
If you dont care for any fancy features maybe you should try yahoos web messenger :
You will find it located here : http://messenger.yahoo.com/?i=1
1. Scroll to the end of the page
2. You will see a link that says Launch web messenger click on that. (If you have a pop up blocker when you click the link don’t forget to press control C while clicking the link) Also, I suggest if you use the web messenger, you might have your g/f do the same.
Just to see if it helps you both. If you are still experiencing lag time, it could be another problem.
Hope this helps 🙂
TwistoffateMemberZhugeliang,
I find this talk of ip information interesting. A friend of mine and I were messing around with Netstat one night. He told me my ip address was the same On two seperate nights. Now, I have a router and the information he repeated to me was a 65. so on and so forth . So I knew he had the router ip address( I hope I am using the correct terms) Anyway, Every time I log onto Yahoo messenger or on the Internet invisible, 5 seconds later he logs on.
Could you tell me your theory on this? Such as am I being paronoid or could there be something to this?
