Jenna’s message was pertaining to a mistake made by Surpass Hosting’s support team. One of the members believed our suspension was a mistake and unsuspended us, and then a couple hours later another member resuspended us because it was in fact, not a mistake. They were supposed to upgrade our account and they still have not gotten back to John. This is the reason we have found new hosting.

middle_man will work with all versions from 4.8 – 5.5.3415, however we are experiencing some bugs with Win98/Me users. However these issues are ad-removal related. If you uncheck all ad-removal options, middle_man will stay out of it. This means you can use modded buddylists with ad-removal.
We do not recommend nor support the use of middle_man with anything above 5.5.3415.
middle_man also allows you to alias your buddy’s screen name — but I would only suggest using it if you want to help us beta test the software.
I just wanted to verify what panickedthumb said, middle_man allows you to control your idle status, talk while away (or idle), and some other shady stuff that you can have fun with (like removing your name from other people’s buddylist and going ‘invisible’. Tracer, I am able to see the webpage fine. I can even go to the registration page. However when I get to the page, there is no space to input a username, and clicking submit proves useless because its not registering a username. I’ve tried going on this computer, and also using a proxy to make sure my cache was cleared.
I’ll try again when I get home from work, maybe it will work then. If not, perhaps I can IM you so we don’t have to spam these forums.
I’m guessing by your response that open sourcing the plugins has not been discussed yet? If it hasn’t been, maybe you could put it on the table. I’m sure more people are interested in it then just me.
With AIMutation going open source, it definitely opens up some possibilities for the community to open up. I can’t say exactly what middle_man will be able to give back to the community since we don’t exactly know how AIMutation is set up. So I guess we’ll have to wait for the source to come out before we establish that.
I’m curious about the plugins that were created. Will they be open source also, Tracer? (more specifically SmileyPlus). And another question. I was a member of your forums before the page went down, however I am unable to log in and I am unable to register in the new one. Is it still under construction?
Just wanted to add that it seems like you guys are working hard on getting everything back up, good job!
Now that I’m reading this, its probably better that I change the termonology on our site. I’ll probably just use what AOL has put in place (Invisibility).
I used ghosting, because this is the name that has been floating around now when talking about this particular idea.
heh, I’m going to have to figure out how to do this properly because I think changing the name might mess with people when they go to do /ghost, etc. ahhh decisions decisions.

So AIMutation is completed disowned (for lack of a better word) by 545studios? This means that you and Lord Icarus are now in charge of AIMutation (via some contract I’m sure).
Does this mean you and him are currently working on a new site?
Also, this is a question for Lord Icarus (don’t know if he comes here): Will he be continuing the production of his plugin AIM#? From a previous post on our forums (@middle_man) he seemed like he was moving away from C# so I would assume not.
If I’m asking too much information (to Tracer of Lord Icarus) just don’t respond to me, heh. I won’t be offended.

There is a website provided by AOL which lets you log onto AIM via cell phone. When you log off, I’m told it keeps your screen name online. If you’d like the link please PM me.
Also, if you sign on with AIM 5.5+ and setup forwarding, your screen name will stay online (forwarding IMs to your cell phone) even after you sign off.
