This is an ICQ thing where they request your status message from your client. Pretty useless to be honest.

Curtis at a guess the program would of actually used bog standard HTTP to add the people via the now dead buddy config web page. If it used YMSG such as mesenger the other person would get a message but due to a screw up by Yahoo they don’t if added via the web page. This is how my buddy manager wors/worked anyways. I would fix buddy manager but my VB6 keeps kicking up an error 🙁

Trying to make out I used IE control in my Buddy Manager program 😡 as if I’d be that sloppy.And I said this was part of them killing YCHT off first ya plagarist. Who do you think you are nicking my comments? Next you’ll be making webpages with Frontpage.
ps. These functions do work if you actually know what you’re doing. Which is why a load of these programs and web based buddy stuff have been removed. The makers just copied others work and don’t understand it.
So the question is do I update my Buddy Manager so it works again?
I assume by Add Buddier he means some lamer arse program badly coded in VB that adds you to other peoples buddy lists without them knowing. Have to laugh seeing how all it does is use the web page that you use to manage your buddy list. If I’m right then the reason it stopped working is the same reason YahELite had problems logging in recently and thats because Yahoo! removed the buddy config pages from their servers.
I believe Yahoo! are gearing up towards killing off the YCHT protocol. Hence the removal of the servers for adding/removing/denying buddies. All these functions will only be available via YMSG protocol. Or would be if it wasn’t for Yahoo! constantly losing track of how many servers it has.
Above the enter key if you happen to be using an American keyboard. Usually next to the left shift key or in that general area on most other keyboards. On the key it doesn’t show a | but shows a | with a gap in the middle but yes it is on the key.
/me wishes people would remember that internet stands for INTERnational NETwork.
Can always use unbud/deny a buddy to remove your name from the other peoples lists if you really really don’t want them to know your status lol.
Seems to be working fine for the moment. That is until Yahoo! find it or when somebody reports it to them because they are peed off because I made it work after they said it had been patched.

So IRC isn’t public then Jim :D. Going off Trillians IRC though I’ll stick with using a seperate chat program for Yahoo! (YahELite in my case) same as I use mIRC for IRC.
