MemberWhy use API when you can just make media player part of a VB app?

Membersciencefeeling why use an unreliable third party online status indicator for Yahoo when they supply their own? Simply copy and paste this into your webbrowser http://opi.yahoo.com/online?u=YAHOOID&m=g&t=3 replacing YAHOOID with their ID. You will get a grey smiley if they are offline and a yellow one if they are online. The only downside is that it will show them as offline if invisible. Here is the smiley using my yahoo id of carbonize
.
You could also use http://www.carbonize.co.uk/status.htm if you want an easier way of doing the above.

MemberI’m gonna take a gamble and say that you’re coding in VB. So a quick solution would be to get Pat or JK’s api spy, have it give you the code for reading the song title from WMP, then have it give you the api for changing the text in the Yahoo message box and then the api for clicking the send button. Then just have your program read the WMP track title every second and if it’s different to what it’s got in memory for the last one then send the message to Yahoo.
But, and I’ve said this over and over, why do you think anyone is going to care what you’e listening to? it’s not like they can hear it.

MemberTaken from my site:
Quote:quote:Hacking a Yahoo! account (or cracking) is not as easy as some people make out.
Yahoo! has patched nearly all it’s login servers so cracking is nigh on impossible.
But to make sure your account is better protected here are some ideasDon’t make your security question obvious
Don’t post your date of birth anywhere online
Don’t use single words for your password (ie. timothy, metro, sesame)
Use a combination of letters and numbers for your password (ie. 1z2x3c, t1m0thy, )
Use a mixture of upper and lowercase letters such as AlPhA, SexY1I wrote it for my Yahoo section but it applies to computers in general.

MemberYes I can still log on to the website even though my account was started on 11-9-02. I still say that the dialling home is a bad idea as it is putting increased pressure on Ceruleans servers and, as has already happened once, if their servers go down nobody can start Trillian.
In regards to the MSN buddy icon thingy in systray alerts you will also see it when you do a mouse over on their name in the list and in the message box if you have the buddyicon holder visible. You can set an MSN buddy icon for yourself using the buddy icon in preferences. If you view a users webcam on Yahoo the last picture gets used as a buddy icon for Yahoo or if you wish you can actually set a picture to be used for a buddy.

MemberSounds like you may have a trojan. If you don’t have an anti virus program then you can get a free one from http://www.grisoft.com then scan your pc for trojans. Also get a firewall to you can see and control what connects to the net from your computer. You can get a free firewall from http://www.zonelabs.com or http://www.sygate.com .
