I’m going to see it a second time this Wednesday with my mom (it’s her first viewing)
PhilipModeratorYeah it sure looks that way. I’ll tell you about another bug I had. On both my desktop and laptop running Windows 7 and the latest WLM, I discovered that my audio would randomly stop functioning. My desktop would become deathly quiet, while my laptop had no WLM notification sounds. I had to restart the audio service to enable it, which is frustrating.
I then discovered that if I were to exit WLM, the audio would magically kick in. After some thinking and with help from a friend, it occurred to me that the other same variable I had on both systems was Microsoft Security Essentials. So I took that out on both systems, and ever since that audio problem hasn’t returned, touch wood. So can you believe it, two Microsoft products that won’t play well with each other?
Anyway, hopefully we’ll see a new version of WLM soon…it’s hard to squash all the bugs, but perhaps they will try and succeed.
PhilipModeratorIt could be a bug in the software, or it could be intentional. Perhaps you could contact Microsoft about it.
PhilipModeratorHi, have you checked the Audio and Video Setup in WLM to see whether there is an advanced setting for your webcam? My Logitech C120 has an advanced setting there where I can choose to mirror horizontal or vertical. Please let me know how it goes.
PhilipModeratorAnother option is to create an entirely new Live account. Before doing so, save all your contacts by going to Contacts > Save instant messaging contacts. Once your new account is up and running, go to Contacts > Import instant messaging contacts.
PhilipModeratorHello, Spike…good to see you here again!
PhilipModeratorWell I just saw Avatar in 2D and it’s good enough for me. It’s a fantastic movie as per James Cameron (the man never seems to get anything wrong) It is a long movie (clocking in at 2 hours 42 minutes) but never once did I feel bored. The action is interspersed wonderfully with the more serene parts. This is another cinematographic tour de force from Cameron.
What’s more, because I logged in online and went for the Wednesday mid-week special here, I paid only $1.80 for the 2D version-beat that!
P/S And it also has Michelle Rodriguez in it!
PhilipModeratorI’m going to watch it soon, but a friend told me to watch the non-3D version here, because they are charging more for the 3D version and the glasses are crappy. So there.
PhilipModeratorBesides using Malwarebytes as Doris advised, also use a program like CCleaner to get rid of any junk files in your system. Don’t forget to scan your hard drive for viruses too (assume your antivirus is up and running with the latest definitions).
PhilipModeratorHi, and welcome to the BBB Forums. To unlink your Live ID, do the following:
- Sign in to your Windows Live account.
- Click Linked IDs on the left column.
- On the Manage Linked IDs page, next to the Windows Live ID that you want to unlink, click Unlink.
- On the Unlink a Windows Live ID page, click Unlink.
PhilipModeratorOn the contrary, my dear Doris…knowledge is never useless. And a big thank you for always sharing what you know!
P/S Rep’s up, and welcome to the 9-star club! 😀
PhilipModeratorI haven’t seen it yet, but will do so soon, I hope.
PhilipModeratorThanks for sharing the info with us, tuz. Glad you got it working!
PhilipModeratorHappy Birthday, Nessa! I was the first anyway 😉
PhilipModeratorStrange, I have McAfee’s site advisor installed in both my desktop and laptop, and there are no problems with my camming. Perhaps this is an individual account issue.
