Steve1209ParticipantHi Wolverine,
My friend had problems with AIM 7.1 on Win 7 X64.
https://bigblueball.com/forums/aim-support/50158-aim-7-1-windows-7-x64-compatible.htmlSome people don’t have problems but some do. My friend isn’t using AIM now but Trillian since it worked and hasn’t looked at any new AIM versions. I’m using AIM 7.4.2.24 but have win XP 32.

Steve1209ParticipantHi lilrobo,
Are you using windows 7 64bit? If so I think AIM 7 has problems with it. Try installing AIM 5.9 and see how that works, find it here:
Download AOL Instant Messenger – Old Version.comHope that helps,

I’m not 100% sure if I understand what you mean by a slimmed down version of AIM. You can find all the versions of AIM on filehippo. See here Download AIM 7.3.6.4 – FileHippo.com. One thing I know about aim adhack, the current version they have on their website claims to work with AIM 7.3 beta 2 but if you use lifestream on AIM, then Ad hack version 6.19 does NOT work. They have been notified of this & haven’t updated since May 7th, 2010, they have become un-responsive to say the least.

Try Meebo – Connecting AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Facebook, MySpace messengers or I think Trillian also but I’ve never used that one! Meebo allows IM between AIM/MSN & Yahoo.
Hope that helps,
SteveSteve1209ParticipantSteve1209ParticipantSame thing happened to me yesterday evening, it was corrected by this morning, as Doris said it was an AIM server issue

Steve1209ParticipantHi all,
This worked swimmingly right up until the first time that someone tried to add me to an MSN groupchat when I was kicked out of the conference and the transport went offline.
I’ve tried a couple of different transports and get the same thing every time. I’ve just tried using jabber.dk and although I got the same response with my GTalk account, when I registered a jabber.dk account and tried connecting to a groupchat through that, it worked fine.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Steve1209ParticipantI just found an update which corrects this problem on this URL, it’s a DEV not a Beta release but it now works…

Steve1209ParticipantOK, it’s definitely a Chrome Beta problem,
I followed Yahooligan’s advice and got version: 4.1.249.1042 beta (42199
When I go to help & about on that version, it wants to upgrade me from there & *IF* I do the upgrade it gets me to the V5 Chrome (the beta that Doris got) which fails on this web page V5.0.356.2. That V4 renders this URL fine. Thanks all for the help…
Steve1209ParticipantBG,
Here is one place to get it Google Chrome for Windows Free Download and Reviews – Fileforum

Steve1209ParticipantBill,
If you Google “Chrome beta”, you’ll find out there is a version 5 beta which I have the latest release of, I know it’s not an extension problem because to test I disabled the 10 extensions I have installed to make sure none of them were causing the Aw Snap problem here.
