I may be off topic but you also boot somebody when you try to log in as them on another computer. Its what is happening to me lately, well it actually just happened to me twice,in the past week, but the though is annoying, cause i talk to just a few people so one of them must be playing around with my id.Doesnt have any chances to find out my password but…if i ever figure out who’s doing it…he’d better have his testament ready 😀
StrigoiMemberWell…this is just a CRAZY thought but why dont you try changing your connection settings in messenger, change your country setting?maybe it’ll change the way your messenger acts about this too.
I have a friend in London for example and he doesnt want to use the “yankee” messenger so he uses the british one, that is not even 7.5 yet.Anyway with that messenger he gets these annoying little ads at the start of every IM window and the environments dont work…so i guess there are some differences between the US version and other countries versions.StrigoiMemberWell i’m not an expert but it should work as trillian(as i hope that trillion is just a misspell) connects to yahoo servers. It doesnt have its own servers so if you’re signed in,on yahoo or trillian, buddy spy would show you as online.
Waiting for an experts opinion now 😀StrigoiMemberI think you have something there but what do you do if that person has you permanently offline before he logs in as invisible?

You’re right,it is greyed out though i dont really see the use for a private room since there’s conference posibilities…I’ve never been into chat anyway But i see that the voice is still on when you go into a room…I dont understand how they screw some things up and then just forget to “unscrew” them  Wonder if they really read any of our feedback or this service is just like a box all messenger companies have to check?
StrigoiMemberYep! Its here, downloaded, installed it,working well,no crashes,am excited about trying the Phone out feature. What still annoyes me is the ad on the bottom, which is there to stay!Apart from that,i recomend you try it,its good, the VoIP quality is great too and it hasnt lost anything from the previous versions 🙂
StrigoiMemberYou know, some time ago i thought i’d use “Firewall with no proxies” setting in connections and i discovered this way the “X is typing a message” is no longer showed.I’m not sure if this happens with the newest versions but its worth trying…
StrigoiMemberWell the 7.5 final version is here now.I just installed it and i can say that the ad box is there,on the bottom of the window but it doesnt show any ads.How weird is that??
By the way i just formated my computer two days ago so there’s no issue of registry “left overs” and i havent used an ad remover either.
StrigoiMemberI’m downloading the file,Eagle-Kiwi and i can already tell you its not the same. The one i downloaded was called msgr75us.exe and this one is called ymsgr75us.exe.I’ll install it to see what’s changed but cant you give the exact link to it cause when you click on “THIS” you get the download straight away and no page.
StrigoiMemberWell this is the page where download starts from http://messenger.yahoo.com/download.php;_ylt=AgxOMUNKMAXaDmObgEeLK8NwMMIF
if you go see the properties of the new found installer, what version does it say it is?
And by the way your “HERE” link doesnt work.StrigoiMemberSo there’s another BETA version out.The file says version 2006.4.12.1
Anyway i installed it and surprisingly it works a bit better than the previous version.Didnt crash til now and everything seems to be fine. The ads still annoy me though, why they decided to put them in the messenger is beyond me.Anyhoo i downloaded that ad destroyer from Dermots page and it did remove the ad with no problems but the space where the ads used to be is still there..Anyway i’m still waiting for the final version. One without problems or ads 🙂StrigoiMemberMy friend has had this problem for over a year now.At first i thought somebody logges in while his away,it even had its own ip and everything but after a while i figured out that his connection gets stuck “online” on some server somewhere cause he’s shown as being online on every site but not on messenger too.I’d like to find a way to change this but in the meanwhile i’ve just gotten used to seeing his “ghost” there 🙂
StrigoiMemberEagle_Kiwi wrote:And Strigoi… I never heard of those version numbers you give!? I guess you’re including the Module Numbers in there??)
The previous Beta was 7.5.0.333, then replaced 3 or 4 weeks ago by 7.5.0.647 – probably available from http://messenger.yahoo.com – or if not, try here. You’re right,it was 7.5.0 and something…But anyway are you sure those are the only versions?Just yesterday i was at an internet cafe and i needed to use Y! messenger. It said BETA version and it ran good so i thought i’d take a look at the version number,as i’ve used BETA version 7.5.0.647 and it gave me quite a headache. It said 7.5.0.2 and something…Sorry that i cant remember the exact version number.Anyway you can just ignore me 😮
StrigoiMemberdetn8r wrote:Strigoi, great work. After some tinkering, I finally got it working.I don’t know if anyone else had to do this, but when I uploaded the new wrapper, I went to the webcam options and double checked that the webcam source was set to Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX. It wasn’t set to anything surprisingly, so I changed it and it worked. Perhaps installing the new wrapper is not needed and just checking the camera’s source is all that is needed?
Hmm no,that problem was not generated by the cam source issue,i assure you.It has been suggested many times on the site and i tried it myself before figuring it out.The solution for the grey-ish mask is the wrapper.I’ve never experienced any other problems with the cam.But from what i understand Logitech webcams have many problems so until i get an accurate description of the problem,i cant really give any advice or comment on it.
StrigoiMemberWell you have to keep in mind that these are BETA versions, thus still very buggy and far far away from perfection. There are two more BETA versions available right now which is 7.0.0.2 and something and 7.0.0.6 and something.I personally tested the .6 version and it has big big problems, wouldnt recomend it to you,but give it a try, there’s a topic on it too…and if the problems persist,id’ suggest the stable version still,as “old” as it might be,you need it to work, nevertheless, right? 🙂
