ParticipantGood work so far! Found one thing….
I don’t know if its just me but it’s looking like webcam history is being recorded as “offline” no matter if it shows up as currently “online.” I have 2.2.1 and 2.2.3 both doing that. Let me know if it’s just me plz.

MemberUnsakred thanks for a fast followup on the previous version of buddy-spy. I downloaded it right away and I am anxious to try it. I have a new toshiba laptop and it closed it completely down 4 times, when I scanned a 2nd name. The only thing I had running was yahoo pager, buddy-spy and eprompter.
I have a 2nd question too I appologize for a long post. I wanted to clear buddy spy completely off of this pc and reinstall it. When I do a search and delete every file, etc that can be found and reinstall the new buddy spy all my former info is still in there. I saw a site that said go into registry edit, I am wondering if maybe there is a easier solution to get a clean install.
Thanks in advance looking forward to the newest version buddy-spy rocks!May 31, 2005 at 2:16 am #106531UnSaKreD
MemberHi pc,
Quite interesting, that it just shut down.
Was there any error message? or was it just a close out?
In answer to your second question,
Buddy Spy does store data in the registry;
[HKEY_Current_USERSoftwareVB and VBA Program SettingsBuddy Spy]
I am trying to update the Installer/Uninstaller to remove these entries.
Although these are just settings, and shouldnt have a bearing on any install.
[HKEY_Current_USERSoftwareVB and VBA Program SettingsBuddy Spy]
MemberHi Unsakred,
The first day I installed the new version it shut down quite often ( my whole pc), so I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it is only shutting down if I run it for a hour. It doesnt give me any error message or warning. I have been clearing the scan history more often and that seems to help. Also as I saw in other post it does use alot of cpu, I was wondering if the shutting down could be from that when the scan history is very full.
I am getting accurate scans using the P2P, I finally realized the reason I wasnt getting a good scan before was I had my own pager set on firewalls with no proxie once I changed it to no network detection works like a charm.
Thank you thank you again..for all the hard work.

PCaddictedDue to how the YMSG protocol works, when using Firewall No Proxies, it disables p2p /webcam and voice.
SO it just returns a false positive, I am looking into this a bit more, to see if I can do something about it.
As for Buddy Spy shutting down, unless there is an error code or something with that. I am unsure as to what to do to solve this problem.
I plan on releasing Buddy Spy 2.2.04 within a few days, with new audible alerts and system tray notification. Also a few minor code changes to help with the false positives, and misc bugs.
I am also starting in on importing of buddy list to those who don’t use a seperate account, that way they can import their buddy list users relatively easily.
Thats about it for now.

MemberHi unsakred,
im a greek user of buddy spy, i have the 2.2.3 version and i wanted to ask when ru going to fix the unicode issue. When i change the language from greek to english, my pc doesnt read some of my files titled in greek nor i can read my greek e-mails on the outlook express etc. So, the only thing i can do up to now is to restart on english every time i want to use buddy spy (in this case i cannot work almost to nothing) and then restart again in greek to work normally on my pc. This isnt the best and easiest way to use buddy list, dont u think? Please, try to import the unicode option to your next upgrade, i cannot work like this anymore!!
Thank u very much

MemberSorry for the delay in response, I just started a new job so my free time is very limited.
Buddy Spy was made in mind generally speaking for U.S. users, I really didnt think the application would take off as well as it did.
So in hindsight(spelling), I should have just incorporated unicode.
As far as incorporating unicode into buddy spy in future releases, I am looking for a clean and efficiant way to do so.
So, when I find a good way to do it, it will be implimented.
As of the next release, 2.2.04 it has not YET been implimented. I am unsure of the release date of the next upgrade, so it might find its way in there if i have a few hours to work on it.

MemberFaggatron wrote:UnSaKreD, do you think it’s possible to add a feature to find out if someone is ideling under the invinsible mode? No, only people on buddy list see that you are idle; or at least to the extent I have seen.
The only way to pull any kind of status message information, is if you are on the buddy list.

Secondly; as for your request there will be an audible event added to 2.2.04, currently it will only play if the user is scanned and detected as online. I might change that to an offline/online style of notication as well.
Note, this audible event will only work if you are scanning, there is no real time event notification. Yahoo! does not broadcast such events, unless the user is on your buddy list, so there is no way for me to scan for it.
Hope that answers some of the questions.
