Memberaimtoday.aol.com/linking/linkingredirect.adp
try that.. it should redirect you to the linking page but im having trouble getting it to work
f0rbez
Memberit only does it if the IM is not the active window. if you still arent getting it, then its probably a windows setting.

Memberthats strange, does your ip change? they could have gotten it before sometime.

Memberwait is it on that buddylinks.net website?

Memberyea ive seen this in there for a long time. i guess they just havent finished working on it yet or havent attempted to. that would definately be cool if someone could activate it.

Memberjust get a firewall, even if they do get your ip they wont be able to do anything with it

Memberi used to have this problem years ago with an earlier version of aim. i had to change something under the direct connect and talk settings but i dont see it there. maybe try messing with the firewall settings in there.

MemberQuote:quote:what i did with him during the “direct connect” was the image transfer, where it is supposed to then post the image in the messaging window. if a trojan or spyware has to be running to collect and send data, then how about that tracking spyware that is placed in the internet files unknowlingly, u won’t see that ever running, but when u do the crtl alt delete, it still collects the data and sends it.the tracking spyware that your referring to are cookies and they actually arent programs. there just little bits of info that companies can use to track your surfing habits. they really do nothing. also, if all you did was look at some pictures then it couldnt have been a trojan. unless u actually opened a file that he sent you through d/c.

Memberuse reshack to edit the “aimres.dll”. open “323” under dialog and delete the 2 windows where the ad is. if you want u can remove the top image/link that just says aol instant messenger.

Memberthey changed the layout of the site. its no longer there.

Memberid give it a try and see if you like it. you might like some of the new features. i personally use screen name linking alot, but video and games i havent used yet. the only unbearable thing about 5.5 is the ad window. i dont remember if it was that big in 5.2 but all you need is reshack to change it or download it from one of these sites that people have been posting.

Memberyea just uninstall the program from add/remove programs, restart, and then delete the directories. i only say to do that so that it doesnt leave extra stuff behind in other directories or in your registry.

Memberspybot thinks everything is spyware. its not a bad program, its just paranoid. i find myself leaving almost everything it detects because most of it is not harmful at all. if lavasoft considered it to be harmful they would include it. i do agree that its unnecessary though and totally safe to get rid of as long as you dont use the games.

MemberBusybyeski is right.. they only disabled the option in one of the earlier builds of 5.5 beta but its back now. no need to edit the registry.

Memberi highly recommend not to simply delete the folders (the viewpoint folder in particular). programs like that need to be uninstalled. if you dont, your gonna leave files and registry entries behind, as well as leave files registered in the system that wont be there.
