MemberMSN Messenger 6 has an option for chat logging. It stores the logs in XML format in a directory in the My Documents directory. If you want plain TXT logs, Messenger Plus will do the trick, and that’ll allow you to archive the logs automatically too (MSN Messenger just complains when the log files get too big).

Memberif the tray icon (next to the clock) disappears when you move your mouse over it, it usually means the program was terminated (either by you or by Windows) but the icon hadn’t been removed by Windows yet. This usually happens when the program crashed.
I’ve had MSN Messenger 6 reinstall itself a couple times when I’d closed it and wanted to turn it on again by going to Start > Programs. My suggestion is to install MSN Messenger and immediately reboot your computer. Then it should start when Windows starts and you can try it then.
If that doesn’t work either, there might be some software conflict in your computer, which is hard to trace. Also, make sure you have no firewalls and/or virus scanners running when you install MSN Messenger. They could (but shouldn’t) interfere with the installation.

MemberUnless you really have no other option (like couriers, fax or delivering the information yourself) email is a pretty good way to get information to another person. If your email is as unreliable as you say it is, I’d look for other options to get my information across.

MemberI saw that too, but I use active.asp and work from the bottom of the page up… maybe a bad habit, but it works for me 😉

MemberMost likely not the solution for your problem, but I had the exact same problem on Sunday evening. The fix for me was to go into my firewall and remove SVCHOST from the blocked list. I must’ve put it on there while blocking the annoying Real Schedule program …

MemberYou can change the size of the webcam image to “Large”, which is actually the real size at which the images are broadcast, by clicking on the little down arrow beneath the cam image. Larger than that isn’t possible with MSN Messenger, which shouldn’t be a big problem because stretching images any further would cause quality loss and blurriness.

MemberHmm… there’s a good reason why Outlook and many other email clients allow you to choose whether or not a read notification may be sent out: privacy.
It doesn’t matter if there’s a warning included in the email body or not, it shouldn’t get sent unless the receiving party agrees to it. If I get emails like that, I’ll either read the emails when I’m offline, or I’ll block that person’s emails until they send normal emails.Just imagine getting a letter in the mail, and when you open the envelope, a small chip sends out a signal to the sender’s pager or cell phone so they can see that you’ve opened it… either you’ll never know about it, or you’ll read about it on the last page of the letter inside. I’m sure you’d be thrilled.
Of course this is just my personal opinion, feel free to disagree.

He is known throughout Springfield as the best doctor money can buy.

Depends on who you ask and what you want… Dr. Nick is the best according to himself and all his fake diplomas, and he’ll perform any kind of surgery, especially ones that you don’t need 😀
Dr. Hibbert just always chuckles, no matter how bad the news is 🙂FrutZle

MemberI should’ve asked if you were using the latest version and saved you some time [v]
Glad you found the fix though 🙂

MemberThis is frustrating… I know I read a topic where somone had exactly the same problem and now I can’t find it.
Anyway, the only thing I can suggest is contacing MSN Messenger Support about this (Contact Form). Several people have reported this problem and, as far as I know, no fix has been found yet.

MemberDoesn’t look like there’s anything you should shut down, so it’s pretty safe to say that your cam isn’t in use by any other programs.
Have you tried using the cam on another Instant Messenger, such as Yahoo IM, to see if it’ll work there?
There’s always a posiblity that the cam just isn’t compatible with MSN Messenger, but in that case your friend should have the same problem since (s)he uses the same webcam…

MemberYour problem isn’t the same as that of ozzy. You can’t keep webcam chats working, he could but was unable to see anything but a black screen.
What is your internet connection speed?
Are you using any programs that use up a lot of bandwidth, or are you viewing the other person’s webcam when you try to turn on yours?
Can you use your webcam with other Instant Messengers like Yahoo IM? -
