MemberJess, Not all cable/dsl IPs stay the same. Mine for example changes every 24 hours. Just a FYI.

MemberMany ppl have tried this, and thankfully ytunnel does a great job at blocking requests. However, beware of anonymous requests. You may assume it’s someone you know, when infact it is not!!!

MemberGood catch there Jeff

MemberIn my opinion, unless a booter has openly told you they are locking you out of your yahoo messenger account, then the problem is with the Yahoo servers. Yahoo knows about the “ID LOCKED” problem, and has for about 6 months or so. When you go to yahoo help and look up this problem, this is what Yahoo says:
“If you receive this error message, please be aware that we are working on this problem and expect to have it resolved very soon. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Our group is just logging in using their different accounts. Some people have actually been locked out of 5 separate accounts.
I don’t think that it’s anything YOU did personally. Most accounts are ok after 1-4 days.
Good luck!

Memberdarkjedi. I was trying to figure out the same thing, but I gave up! 😀

MemberJust_me. This is again a Yahoo server problem. I have actually clicked “join user”, and waited, just to see if it would work. It took 7 minutes, but I finally got in the room. Also, our group has played around with being invisible or available. We have better luck ‘joining user’ and ‘following user’ when neither party is invisible. Good luck.

MemberdarkJedi. If yahoo fixed all the problems, and everything ran perfectly, then it just wouldn’t be yahoo anymore. lol 🙂 I know that some of the yahoo problems they’ve known about for 1 year. It’s an interesting game they play.

MemberOk, so what you are saying is that you lost a password to an individual, not to a particular site??? Well since you didn’t SAY What site that your user name and password was taken from, I will have to GUESS it is yahoo! So…. If you go to the “YAHOO” site, and click the link that says “lost password” or “can’t remember password” see if they will email the new one back to you. I wasn’t telling you to go to the person and ask for the password back. lol “doh”
Netti
MemberI would think if you went to the site, and clicked on “Lost Password” and asked them to email it to you. As long as ALL the information in the account was not changed, they would email you the new password. However, if whoever took this data, has change the email address, etc. then I think you’re out of luck. Sorry.

MemberRegarding Account Lock outs – A group of people I chat with have all had the same problem for a couple months. This is Yahoo issue. It usually will resolve itself anywhere from 1 hour to 2 days. However, if after that time, you still are unable to log into your account, I would use an alternate account for at least 1 hour, then try logging back into your other account. However, don’t forget that there are hackers and booters out there with the ability to lock your account, but they more then likely will tell you they are locking your account.
Regarding Odd status messages, this is also a Yahoo problem. Our group has gotten into the habit of reclicking the “Available” message, everytime they log in “just in case”. So that way whatever message has been left on your friends list when you left will not be overwritten. At least it will fix the problem until Yahoo figures out that there actually IS a problem.
