Ok Michael, this is a yahoo glitch with their voice server. I’ve had that problem a few times, and until yahoo fixes it, the only way I know is to leave the room and re-enter, this will attempt to re-connect you to the voice server. I have also had to shut down and re-start messenger. Good Luck
NettiMemberOnce again I agree with Oreo – Go get some protection. There are boot programs out there for EVERYTHING. So get something to protect yourself as well.
NettiMemberThere was a case of a guy who snuck into his neighbors house, planted video equipment in their attic to film their bedroom. He was caught, but believe it or not, he was not charged. There is (or was) no law in place for Video peeping toms. Just be very very careful, because there are also programs out there that will allow you to view a person’s cam, WITHOUT your knowledge. So when you think you are having a little one-on-one, it turns out it could be a one-on-ten.
NettiMemberI agree with snugle. Go to Ytunnel. You don’t only want to disable the ads so their is a blank screen at the bottom of your chat window, or it is replaced with a picture, but you want to get rid of the ads all together. Ytunnel gives you the entire screen for chat. No ads anywhere!!!!!
NettiMemberAnother suggestion is to get a program, like Ytunnel, which will deny any and all PM’s, cam invites, or voice invites, from people who are not on YOUR buddy list.
NettiMemberOlympic. On your system, you have the option to “Restore to a prior date”. If you restore you system to the date prior to going on vacation, it should remove the bad update, and allow you to view whatever you did back then.
NettiMemberMichael, are you talking about Joining a room, or connecting to Voice????
NettiMemberOlympic. I was originally referring to not be able to log into yahoo, or being locked out of your account. But it looks like you have a much more serious issue than that. I’ve got to think that you’re computer may need a major overhaul. I spoke to a few people from UK, Australia, South Africa, and have not heard any of them having any difficulties accessing Yahoo in anyway. So you may be right in the fact that you got some bug while you were away. I’d try to revert your system back to the date BEFORE you went out of town, and see if that works. Good luck!
NettiMemberMariette. These ppl are hackers/booters with special programs that can interfere with yahoo causing you to be logged out of yahoo. They also have programs which can LOCK your yahoo account so that you cannot log in for a few hours or days. These ppl reside in ALL rooms. They hop from room to room just testing their skills. If you have not incountered anyone booting you out of yahoo, or locking your account consider yourself lucky. Sometimes you would never know if it was a yahoo glitch, or if it was a boot. But believe me, they are out there in full force!!!!
NettiMemberHey hoopy, if all else fails. How about telling your story to one of the local newspapers in HIS area. Providing them with all the details, as well as the fact that he works for law enforcement.
NettiMemberLuke…. You are the reason that programs like Ytunnel and Cam Blocker were created in the first place. Don’t think that this program will allow you to secretly view cams…. The people you are viewing… KNOW you are view…
NettiMemberDDouble… Advertising jumped in where? In the PM box? on you’re screen? Were you typing or Voice?
NettiMemberJust, again we found it worked better if neither party were invisible.
Sorry it didn’t work for you… Don’t give up… One day it will work again.
NettiMemberOh noooo Oreo… These lovely gentlemen, Openly tell us. “ok you f***(##)&”, just because you pissed me off and said something I didn’t like, you’re account will now be locked for 1 hour, or 1 day, So we’ll see you then, bye bye”.
Oh they love to brag to us that they’ve locked someone out of their account! So now we’re suppose to be afraid of them. One guy actually kept booting the entire room, telling us he was going to continuously do this until the guy (someone who made him mad) came back and apologized.
We have many booters that come in the room, get mad, then say “Well, Bye Bye John341, it was nice knowing you”. Then John341 is gone.
They are getting more brazen each day. I almost wish they wouldn’t tell us, and just let it happen. lol
So normally we just leave, make our own room, and go back later.
What a joy it is dealing with “children”.
NettiMemberHoopy I am a little confused. When you said you contacted law enforcement in his area, and you discovered he is involved in law enforcement? Are we talking about your stalker? Is he involved in law enforcement??? If so, and you know his name, and the area he’s in, I don’t see what the problem is?
You copy and print all messages from the stalker, get the fax number of his boss, and just start faxing the stuff to his work. The problem will soon come to an end.
