MemberHere is my two cents:
Sometimes the display image request is sent sometimes it is not, it is unfortunately as simple as that.
Xeeber can display the pic, but it also puts their text across it which I find rather annoying.
I just made a program that lets you download the display pic, so you can view it and save it if you want.

I would say congratulate yahoo! on it actually attempting to protect it’s users online privacy.
:p
I agree to a point lol
Venom, depending upon the users configuration depends on whether or not they can be picked up w/o the bot being on the list.
I havent been around to test this c-mode protection, but im sure it works. The process is very simple to block and even report whos scanning you.

Indeed, I think that new app works relatively the same as Buddy Spy. And just like the B.S, results are not guaranteed… 😮
You are exactly correct.
I don’t trust the opi servers at all, the opi servers in buddy spy were used as just a web check (and said just as much).
Besides this web check, there is only one other way that I know of currently to pull online status, and you are still going to have varied results.

Yeah the opi servers are terrible.
I would never go by them.
It’s plain to see yahoo online status and stealth status is something that fell into the whole online stalking and children issue when yahoo where pulled up on it by the DA in america so they had to do something to protect peoples privacy.
Yahoo! had really no choice but to do something about the likes of buddyspy and the follow command and user rooms.
I personally don’t miss the follow command or user rooms and i like having the option to stealth all or single users on my list when im busy or just don’t feel like chatting, we all have those days.
That is why the web scan is just a backup scan in buddy spy.
There are still methods of detecting online presence, all be it is a bit harder now.

MemberThat is probably what it is Dermot, not really reliable. I was experimenting with this about a year ago. I was trying to have buddy spy users have a buddy spy id and a web presence so they can check in on it at anytime.
Before Yahoo! did their update, mine did cam as well.UnSaKreD

There’s already plenty of plugins/addons out there that scans invisible users.
But keep in mind, due to Yahoo’s changes, you can only scan people on your buddy list. Also, you can’t see if people are in chat rooms due to Yahoo removing join user in chat and follow user. Just keep that in mind before downloading this.
That is true for the most part, you can still do a web detect method if they havent turned that option off.

MemberBuddycheck merely uses a web check method easily avoidable, buddy spy has this method incorporated into it (and has for over 6 months now)
Buddy Spy release candidates are achieving a better accuracy rate.

MemberWell done shifter, unfortunately I have had to lock down my forums as well too many multiple posts.
Bottom line is buddy spy is not working accurately because of major yahoo changes. It *IS* being worked on, but I am only one man and hold down a full time job and kids so, my time is not fully devoted to it.
So please be patient and not make either forum filled w/ duplicate posts.
Thanks,
Brandon

MemberNetti wrote:Just another note to people. This is NOT just an issue with Buddy Spy. This affects EVERY online checker out there.
So don’t think downloading a different program will make any difference, because it won’t.
This is a patch done by Yahoo, which causes false readings.
Even if you do find a little trick, which there are a few, DO NOT take stock in the results you receive. They are NOT accurate.
Please be patient while Brandon and the other programmers, work on a fix to this. When they do, someone will let us all know.
I am hoping to have a fix out by this weekend, so stay tuned. I did post the link directly to the buddy spy forums, so I will try to also do a follow up post here 🙂

MemberYes, people need to let me know that its not working! lol
I work a few jobs right now and have a few personal problems I am dealing with so I am rarely on anymore.
I recieved about 200 e-mails yesterday and the triple bandwidth usage tipped me off to something lol.
I worked on it some last night, and I will be looking into it more tonight.
For future information, if you want the latest news on whats going on.
Please view the announcement on buddy spy’s forums for more information and updates.

Well, the problem’s happened like twice in a month, that I know of.
Yesterday I let BS running most of the day and it still said my friend was on.As for restarting Buddy Spy, I turned it off then on again 2 or 3 times during that time. I turned it on inmediately after closing it so I am not sure whether I did it correctly.
I also tried changing scanning period, like 20 minutes, then 10 then 5… and also changed server port a couple of times, but the result was the same, it said my friend was online.Today it says he’s offline.
As for BS saying 3 of his sn were online, is it due to the 3 could be from the same account?
Thanks
Most likely the 3 other accoutns are online because they are sub profiles of the same account.
Buddy Spy’s accuracy depends highly on their connection to YMSG servers, via proxy, firewall or straight connection. This WILL influence results.
Perhaps thats why different days different results?

MemberIm_a_good_lil_girl wrote:Hi Unsakred,I downloaded Buddy Spy 2.2.11 RC 3 as you suggested, but I am now having a problem… why would BS say one of my friends is online when I know he isnt? it actually says 3 of his sn are online ( so I think it’s cos they’re from the same yahoo account ). I let BS running all day and it keeps saying he’s online. Maybe he was online a few hours ago and BS thinks he’s still online?
Thanks
Ps. This is not the first time BS does this with this person.
By the way, when it says the user is not in chat, why doest it appear in orange sometimes and in red some others?Since Yahoo! has now introduced interoperability w/ MSN a lot of things are shall we say breaking. Either because of test servers going live, here and there or because a change totally in protocol.
How often does this happen? (friend being online and offline)
Is it still happening? have you restarted buddy spy? etc.
The Room Name changing colors from red to orange is a bug im working on, im actually re-doing the reporting system currently.

MemberNetti wrote:Keep in mind that with the creation of more and more spam programs out there that only fill up rooms. Buddy spy will try to send your bot into a room, then copy the room name down and leave the room, and give you the reading. However, when a room is full, you will get the reply that the user is not in chat, because your bot could not follow the person into the room.Even if you try to get into the room, and have no problem, it doesn’t mean that 30 seconds ago, someone else wasn’t trying to send all their bots into a room.
I have this problem ALWAYS when a room is full. If I keep rescanning over and over, sooner or later the bot is able to join the room.
I could not have said it any better myself lolUnSaKreD
MemberNetti wrote:Actually this happens to me alot. From what I can tell, where’s what happens.
Your bot tries to enter the room, then it copies the first line it sees after entering the room, however… Some names get stuck in a room.
What I mean is.. have you ever entered a room, and it seems that someone has just entered right after you? Then if you leave and come back, that same name joins the room again? Kind of seems like someone is following you, but all that has happened, is that bot, or person, has logged off chat and their name gets stuck in the room. It will stay there until the person logs back in again. So when you get a person’s name in your buddy spy, normally it’s a bot, or someone stuck in there, or even someone who entered the room immediately after your joined.
This is NOT the name of a person they are pm’ing with.
Correct, fyi its Buddy Spy not Spy Buddy two seperate programs altogether one is a keylogger/trojan(Spy Buddy)
