Since around December, Yahoo! Has added a new part to their Cookie.
The Time Stamp.
This only allows cookie’s to be good for 24 hours.

Also, Yahoo has changed their chat servers.

So any old Hacked Java maker wont work because it wont grab the timestamp, and it wont have the new servers.

or you could send a pm w/ chr(&H9) in it.
Does the same thing.

Okay, just to clear this up for you….

When you are booted w/ a boot code.

It does not lock your account.

And it especially wont lock your account in the manner of speaking here.

This lock was probably placed on her account for one of two reasons.

1.) the account was used to boot.

2.) this account was reported to yahoo via the abuse form.

And from what I have read about the post.

That is what it sounds like to me.

In order to have that ban lifted you would need to call up Yahoo!.

Basically this topic has been covered.
But I feel like adding my two cents in.

Getting some ones IP is fairly easy to do VIA Yahoo or AIM.

For Yahoo there are a few methods.
1.) Using a program (IP Sniffer Pro) plug plug….
2.) Doing it manually.

To do it manually as some one else already posted you need to run DOS.
And from the DOS Prompt type Netstat -N.
When the active connections are listed you will be looking for a TCP Port
like 5101 or 5100.

And that is the IP address of the person you are in chat/super webcam/file transfer with.

For Aim, the process is also quite simple.
Open up an Instant Message, and click on the picture tab.(Direct Connection)
After they have accepted load up good old DOS and again type NETSAT -a.
I don’t know the actual TCP Port for AIM its been a while.
It might be 5190 but im not sure.

My suggestion to yahoo is to go back to basics.

And start from scratch.

Ok, this is a rather old topic, but i must seperate fact from fiction.

1.) IP Address’s are easily grabbed through P2P events on Yahoo! Messenger.
These events consist of(but not limited too), Open PM/File Transfer/Webcam/PM Voice. etc. etc.
2.) Can Hacker’s “trace” your IP?
Well typically “tracing” means you are tracing an IP address to its origin or its route to that origin. So in a broad answer yes.
If you mean trace your IP to your Yahoo Name, that is obvious, if you have an open pm, there is your Yahoo Name and IP Address.
About 6 months ago, you could do a whole lot more without needing an IP address, when Yahoo! Really first started using P2P Packets.
But thats another story.
3.) Stealing Yahoo! Accounts/ Viewing Aliases
Ok now there are many many many ways to steal an account.
First off, the obvious way of stealing an account is Password Cracking.
Now, don’t get too worried, since there hasn’t been a straight forwards cracker in many a month.
They are all mostly simulation crackers.
So the chances of you getting your account cracked is around id say 5%. And most likely it wouldnt be on purpose.
Now the biggest way to stop your account from being cracked is purely obvious. Don’t have a common password such as(yahoo, yahoo123,yourname,yourlastname,birthdate,yourbf gf or whatever)
Make your password at least 8 characters long and mixed between uppercase and lower case along w/ numbers. And your account won’t be cracked.
Now, for the other obvious way to get a password.
Trojan horses.
Typically, Trojan Horses are very common.
Which works in your benefit, If you keep up to date w/ your Anti Virus Def’s, you are less likely to be infected.
Now, for another smei obvious way to get an account user/password is by downloading a booter from an untrusted site.
I wont list any sites, but there are a few out there, and also a few programmers out there that make backdoors and password stealers to grab your account user name and password from the registry then send it over YMSG protocol in their booter or whatever.

Now, for the not so obvious and less heard of are the account exploits.
(oh yes they do exist.)
With the recent upgrade of YMSG 11 back in December, Yahoo had left itself wide open to a rather Serious Exploit.
This exploit was a specially crafted login request over YMSG Protocol.
it would respond back with the User’s cookie.
Now with the User’s cookie you are able to circumvent most Authentication(Now Yahoo! Has Patched most of this).

There are still different ways of getting your account taken from you.

So the best way to not get it taken from you is by doing the following,
1.) Make your Password at least 8 characters consisting of Upper and Lower Case with numbers.
2.) Do not save your password on your Machine.
3.) Don’t download programs by Authors that you don’t trust.
4.) Don’t accept files from non friends. Especially “booters”

Well thats my speal, hopefully it helps.

C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengerStoredIMI am not sure if they get totally deleted from that directory upon closing the window.
If they do, and you didn’t have archiving on, then there is no way to read what they said.

Profile tweaker, can only do one nick at a time.
Obviously you must have the user/pass to the account name in order to change the profile.
This is how it works.

Profile Tweaker connects to login.yahoo.com
Then goes to kr.profiles.yahoo.com (korean profiles)
Then changes the information based on what you added.
