MemberWhy would you want to do that? Why can’t you just ask them for permission?
IndyTone
MemberWell, don’t ask me why this happens, but I figured out the reason I was locked out.
I tried logging on today and got back on. After answering a few offline messages I began deleting people from my contact list (selecting the name, hitting the delete key) for a little Spring cleaning. Same thing as last night before I was locked out.
After deleting ten or so contacts I was locked out again. So, I guess we’re not supposed to delete our contacts now? Wish I had known.
I have no idea why Yahoo! is retarded this way. I guess it’s probably a security issue or something that is supposed to help you if your account is hacked and the hacker decides to empty your contact list for some reason. Either way, it’s retarded.

MemberYeah, I’m locked out of my account for some odd reason. Wonder if it’s related to this.
IndyTone
MemberWell, if you can’t use ANY IM webcams, it’s a problem with your computer.

No truer words have been spoken. Bots can be hilarious, but most of them teeter on the annoying side.
I don’t know anyone who has coded their own bot software–probably due to the fact that, like Jeff said, there is already software to use/start from. Fifteen years ago it would have been worth it to code your own, now I think it’s a moot point.

MemberI hope that you find an answer to this topic. It requires IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!!!
IndyTone
MemberI think it does this automatically after a set number of minutes. I have a few people on my contact list right now whose status is “Idle”.

You should just use a proxy.

Hi. I said “outgoing”. You cannot send a file via Trillian through your Yahoo account.
IndyTone
MemberToo bad I can’t get Odigo to connect while I’m at work (where I shouldn’t even be IMing anyway
).IndyTone
MemberYeah DK,
I was just echoing sentiment that was already going on here. I would love a trustworthy web-based msn message system.
IndyTone
MemberIt’s good, but I still run Yahoo on its own since Trillian doesn’t support outgoing file transfer within Yahoo. Also, it has yet to fully support the Web cam feature within Yahoo.
Also, is there a way to get into chat rooms via Trillian for Yahoo and MSN?
IndyTone
MemberI would imagine you could just save the files/folders in which you messages are stored; and after you format and reinstall, just replace that file within Yahoo. If you look in your Yahoo dir, there’s a folder called StoredIM. I would imagine you could save all your messages to that folder and just copy it before formatting, then replace the new one with the old one after reinstallation.
