Official? You honestly think they are going to state something “official” to try and jam garbage down your throat?
I’d rather be privy to Yahoo’s ‘garbage’ than to a rumor started by some clown in a room and passed on as fact. And I believe most here would agree. I see it all the time in the chat rooms. I started the Yahoo Myths & Realities thread just for that reason. So….if Netti would ablidge us with a link, I’ll thank her. If she can’t, then she should edit her post.

As most of you know, Yahoo has removed the ability to change your profile picture. The reason being is they want you to use either 360 or yahoo photo.
Oh really? Can you provide a link to something official (i.e., from Yahoo, not another user forum site) stating this?

Yahoo Servers have reached their peak due to overuse of Bots/users in Rooms.
I have to ask….
If this were the case, and assuming the majority of chat users are from the US and Canada, would entering/changing rooms say between 3-5 am EDT have a noticeable improvement to the lag compared to at other times?

MemberCan you add a little context to this, please?

MemberI found and deleted about 15 of them, but they all had today’s date. I’ve been on build 244 since it was first posted. I’ll watch and see what happens next.

MemberYou’re probably seeing what are called Bots, which are automated porn site ads that masquerade as females (typically). The cam statuses are fake, of course, and the enticement is to look at their profile and click the referring link. Some will also send PM’s with links. Bots seem to infest every room in Yahoo, with some rooms having 30 or more bots at a given time.
My understanding is most bots are generated out of eastern Europe, which may explain the the strange wording they use sometimes.

MemberIf you’re talking about the User Rooms, Yahoo removed them two years ago.

Memberentrail,
If you’d like, you can meet me in Yahoo Messenger and I can walk you through the proper setup for playing music in the rooms. We can go in a voice conference (which functions the same as any other public room) to go through the process, and the test it on a few songs. I’ve done this with people for several years now, and I’ve found showing someone the proper method is usually more beneficial than using some tutorial. Send me a private message on here and we can schedule a time. I’d be happy to help you out.
