The download is all the way at the bottom, look real close its a small linktomsbbbMemberNever mind, I found the answer, Thanks anyway
tomsbbbMemberBill, I take you did not find out anything, I was talking to Yahoo Chat and they fixed it
but would not or could not tell me why it happens and they would not tell me how they fixed it!
But I found out from someone else that it happens to, they told me toGo to http://mail.yahoo.com and it will refresh my webpage and the search will work again.
Have not tried it yet, waiting for the Mail Search to stop working again, then I will try it.
Just thought you and others might want to keep this tip handy if it happens to you. Thanks for the reply, TomtomsbbbMemberPatNDoris: I saw most of the websites on this subject but the one on the forum that stated McAfee has its own removal tool, that you supplied, I did not know that, but I dont think McAfee is on my pc now, I used all removal metods and went thru the registry really good.
But just for the heck of it I will try there tool (cant hurt)
As I might have mentioned this only affects the pc to pc on windows messenger.
Will let you know if mcafee removal removes anything.BTW, I do see alot on google who are having the same problem.
tomsbbbMemberNo, I have not tried them yet. But I just brought up Opera and went to my yahoo mail from there and started using the composing screen and this time the yahoo messenger did NOT close on me. So like you said it is probably something I will have to put up with til they fix it (if they ever do) its been almost 2 months. BTW, the older version did not do this but I cannot go back to it, I tried using old version.com it downloaded but would not install, it stated I do not have permission to do this!!! Go figure? Thanks anyway for your help.
tomsbbbMemberThanks PatnDoris, nothing seems to work, they said they know of the problem, thats why I’d like to know if anyone else is having this problem, please let me know?
Venon: You said>> Click on the arrow by the Available status and click Offline. If you mean the drop down menu, Offline is not an option or do you mean type it in? Thanks
tomsbbbMemberThats what I thought, I told him to change his password and see if it happens again. Waiting to see what he is going to do. Thanks
tomsbbbMemberAnyone? Thanks
tomsbbbMemberPatNDoris:
You solved it for us, when you mentioned, Run yahoo as Administrator, that did the trick. It seems pc to pc will not work on this vista unless you do it that way! Thank You Very Much, TomtomsbbbMemberPatNDoris:
Sorry it took me so long to get back you, I have some health issues that had to be addressed.
I will be on the pc that is giving us trouble this weekend and hope to get back to you after I check out all you mentioned. Thank You, TomtomsbbbMemberCall setup works perfectly on both pc’s and as I mentioned all other messengers work ok except yahoo pc to pc. Thanks
tomsbbbMemberok, the pc to pc works on ALL messengers BUT Yahoo and we are not using a proxy.
As far as I can see running the grc ports tests all ports are Stealthed.
Yahoo messenger always worked before with this test being the same!
The firewall does not seem to be the problem as far as we can see!
But just incase how do we open up one of these ports to make sure?>>>Yahoo! Messenger with Voice will work if any one of these TCP ports are open:
5061
443
80Thanks
tomsbbbMemberYes, its the pc to pc talk feature, we cannot get it to work (just IM)
What version of yahoo messenger are you using with your Vista? Also, maybe tell us where you downloaded it from? Thanks -
