AIM 5.2 in my opinion is the best, it has no bloatware or wildtangent and weather bug. It has all the important features.
http://www.oldversion.com has all the AIM versions. Go there, and check them out for yourself.

If you just upgraded, try to get an older version from http://www.oldversion.com and see if it works. Maybe the new version is not compatible with your computer.

IM grabber is a good one. Although you will need to get a crack for the whole version.

nismo06, if you did not download an official AIM expression from AOL then it will not show up on your friends IM, only yours.

You should call and ask your internet provider because i’m pretty sure its not because of the network. This happens to my friend, and she moved her laptop next to the computer with the wireless network and it still happened. But it stops after a while for like a month and it happens again for like a few days. It happens on the computer with the internet connection also, so im sure it is not because of the network. Maybe it is data lost, and your internet provider should be able to fix it.
If they are not official AIM Expressions from AOL, they will not show up on your friends computer, only yours.

Why dont you just ask her for it! you’re a loser! stop posting stupid questionsI’ve posted about this problem already. This happens when I IM or get IMed by AOL members. I think it is because of the Windows Update, but i’m not positive. If you have this problem and you have recently updated the Windows Update, then this is probaly the cause.
If I figure out the Windows Update is the cause, then I will post tellign you how to get rid of the updates.

I found out that this happens when I talk to people on AOL. I do not know why though, its a possiblity because of Windows Update but im not sure.

I’m sorry if I misinformed you on this subject. It turns out that my antivirus did not cause the problem. But I didnt find out the cause of the problem. Whenever certain people IM me, it gives me the error. I do not know why this is happening. I’m thinking they may have a different version of AIM but I am not sure. But im sure that these people are causing the problem but I do not know why.
