MemberWhat I meant by spam filter was filters at Yahoo!s servers.
They are getting some stuff wrong, maybe blocking people by mistake, its nothing you have control over…
This is just a guess, but its the closest thing I can thing of, I looked for patterns and found none…

MemberI didn’t notice any way of changing the background, if you look in the xml file you may be able to add an entry and play with all the offsetting and use an image, but I am not really sure…
freddy
MemberI would say save your resources and money and use a chat client…

MemberAS said, Macromedia Flash is required, both to build and to view Avatars.
If you want to build in Firefox, for instance, you will need to plugin for FireFox. So you will need the correct plugin for your browser.
But in all cases, you will still require the Internet Explorer plugin, because Yahoo! Messenger uses IE to display these things. As they are only small to download the Flash Player, 500KB? its not going to be too bad to download one for each. However, as you all have Internet Explorer anyway, you could just build in IE…
Audibles require flash too, but they don’t work here, neither on my XP or 98 installations. I signed in on IDs from both UK and US Yahoo! and still nothing worked. The box remains blank until I click “More Audibles>>Recent Audibles” when loading appears for what appears forever. I have Java and Flash. This is all the Yahoo! requirements state…

MemberYou can block adverts with downloads the size of about 3kb, even on dial up you miss the download if you blink, why you want something like Y!Tunnel I don’t know…

MemberIt sounds like what is discussed at http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/removal.php
There is not much info on this Trojan/Spyware and because it is only really spyware, several companies do not add this to their virus definitions, most spyware scanners do not catch what I discuss on that page.

MemberTinkerBellz – If you want to switch alias to IM or Chat, you simply select the required Alias from the list.
If you want to sign into a new account, as always use Messenger>>Sign Out. Then you will be prompted with a new sign in box.
IMQueen – It would seem it’s one Avatar/Display Image per account, not per alias.

MemberA firewall should not stop you sending IMs, describe your symptoms.
If it’s a case that the IM simply does not leave the IM input box, see here: http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/nopms.php
As for web messenger, http://messenger.yahoo.com , Click “Web Messenger” on the left.

MemberYahoo! Messenger (Windows) is mainly bootable because of the way it works. It renders text with an IE control and has to do mass checking and blocking of normal HTML/JavaScript/Java etc… that could be potentially embedded into IMs and chat. People work out codes that cause these checks, or IE vulnerabilities to overflow etc…
Yahoo! Messenger (Linux) and clients do not use these IE controls so most of the problems are already gone. A client might introduce new problems, such as its parsing of tags may allow for buffer overflows etc…, but thats dependent on client. Things like Multiple IMs and Voice conference Invities, webcam invites etc… are usually stripped by clients. Yahoo! Messenger (Linux) doesn’t have webcam for you to be invited to?
Yahoo! Messener (Linux) has no chat room capability, that is coming in the 1.2 series. Zinc is a nice console based chat client, you can see more about the chat clients at http://www.carbonize.co.uk

MemberThe Tour isn’t available on all servers yet, some people will find a Not Found On Server error in its place…

MemberFor anyone who is interested in some info on the Beta but who doesn’t feel confident in replacing the stable with the beta, or anyone else, here is a short summary: http://www.helpbytes.co.uk/messbeta6.php
That also includes all 15 of the new smileys and the codes used to post them.
freddy
Memberandy, that would enable automatically setting up proxies etc… when you log into your ISP.
Could be related to proxies or locations, not really sure on a definite answer though. For profiles I have people unticking this box, so there is a possible conflict here, oh dear….
freddy
MemberThere is no definite answer to why this is happening.
It has been associated by most people as to happen to those who post excessive amounts of text when they first enter the room, or post certain URLs. This is the answer i’ve put on my site too. It could be spam filters going wrong.
