ParticipantSure. I don’t mind. Will valid post topics be pushed out this way?

ParticipantI’m not getting any more than usual at home but at work I average 75-100 a day that our spam filter catches.

ParticipantFrom what you’ve posted it probably wasn’t your contact chatting with you. Sounds more like a bot answering.
The link goes nowhere – it is a dead page. It was probably a link to malware at one time but it no longer appears active.

ParticipantI don’t find anything about that folder, or the transport0.txt file when you log in. Have you opened the text file in Notepad to see if it contains any actual information? You might try asking on the Windows Live Solution Center. They are geared to help answer some of the very technical questions and/or ones that pertain to specific accounts.
About the only suggestion I have is based on my own experience with a similar folder that would constantly appear on my desktop (but it was a bookmarks folder). Instead of deleting it, I finally just moved the folder inside another folder so I didn’t have to see it keep showing up. While the folder certainly still exists, it no longer appears on my desktop.

ParticipantWebcam features were downgraded/removed in version 14.0.8117.0416 as noted in this blog post by Jonathan Kay.
You might try downgrading to an older version. You can find older builds on Filehippo.com
Or, if both you and your contact are on Vista or Windows 7, you could try the new beta which does have webcam functionality and it is quite good.

ParticipantThe short answer is no. There used to be, but it hasn’t worked in a very long time.
Any website that claims to do this will likely put malware and viruses on your machine so stay away from them.

ParticipantWe are not here to help anyone steal passwords or to hack accounts. I’m closing this thread.

ParticipantYou can’t change what you see in your contact’s status no. That is broadcast based on the settings your contact has selected in his/her profile on Pulse.
If what you are referring to is that you have connected with someone on Pulse and you want to “un-connect” from them – yes you can remove connections from the Yahoo Pulse page. You can also decide who see’s what as far as what is broadcast in messages and statuses to others.
Doris Kenney
ParticipantOn Yahoo Pulse you can “Connect” with other users and share information with them from Yahoo (as well as other social sites). If you allow your activity from Pulse to be broadcast to your contact list it may show recent information in your status, if no other status has been set. It’s Yahoo’s attempt at a somewhat social site.
“Connection Harry” simply means you contact has added someone named Harry as a friend (or “connected with” him) on Yahoo Pulse. It’s more or less like adding a friend on Facebook.

ParticipantI’m pretty sure the programs that used to work have been rendered useless with the last few upgrades to Yahoo.
What you can do is to appear permanently offline to the contact and to use the privacy options in your preferences to keep from receiving any messages from them.
As far as I know, that’s about the best you can do.

ParticipantGlad it worked for you!!

ParticipantIf you are using version 14.0.8117, this is something of a known issue that many people have experienced. It does seem to be account specific, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason as to why it happens. Other symptoms that often go along with this are appearing offline to your contacts even when you are marked online.
While there is no “real” solution, you can try adding your contacts through a third party program like Meebo, Digsby or Trillian. Since these programs access different servers, you may have luck adding your contacts there. If you can get them added successfully, then you will most likely be able to chat with them normally in WLM after that.
Another option might be to try the public beta of WLM 2010. However, it only runs on Vista and Windows 7. It cannot be used on XP. I have not seen any complaints of this issue with users on the beta version…yet.
Let me know if either of these options helps solve the problem for you.

ParticipantAs far as I know, if you decline a friend request that’s it on WLM.
You might just check your Live ID profile to make sure there are no pending friend requests there. Not all of your “friends” on your profile have to be “contacts” in your messenger list. If there is an invite, at least you’d be able to connect and then add the person to your WLM contact list. I’m grasping at straws but it’s worth a quick peek.
Good luck!
